KR-102964896-B1 - APPARATUS FOR MOUNTING CURTAIN AIR BAG CUSHION
Abstract
The present invention relates to a fixing device for a curtain airbag cushion, comprising an intermediate connecting tab (200) and a strap (400) that are connected to the curtain airbag cushion (1) by sewing (300), and a mounting plate (100) that is connected to the intermediate connecting tab (200) and fixedly connected to the vehicle body (2). The mounting plate (100) is formed of steel material so that sufficient assembly torque can be maintained when assembled to be fixed to the vehicle body (2) via a bolt (500). The intermediate connecting tab (200) and the strap (400) that are connected to the curtain airbag cushion (1) by sewing (300) are formed of a flexible fabric material so that damage to the curtain airbag cushion (1) caused by the intermediate connecting tab (200) and the strap (400) can be prevented when sewing (300) is connected.

Description
Fixing device for a curtain airbag cushion {APPARATUS FOR MOUNTING CURTAIN AIR BAG CUSHION} The present invention relates to a device used when securely attaching a folded curtain airbag cushion to a vehicle body, and more specifically, to a fixing device for a curtain airbag cushion that can maintain assembly torque when attached to a vehicle body and improve assembly and workability by preventing sagging. Generally, vehicles are equipped with various types of airbag devices to protect passengers in the event of an accident; among these, curtain airbags are mounted on the side panels of the vehicle body and protect passengers by deploying downwards as the airbag cushion unfolds in the event of a rollover or side collision. In this type of curtain airbag system, a curtain airbag cushion is typically fixed in a circular, rolled-up form at the top of the vehicle body pillar, and the cushion deploys due to the pressure of airbag gas generated by an inflator to protect the passenger's upper body, including the head. FIG. 1 shows a drawing in which a circularly folded curtain airbag cushion is fixedly coupled to a vehicle body via a conventional fixing device, and FIG. 2 shows a drawing for explaining a conventional fixing device. That is, the circularly folded curtain airbag cushion (1) is sewn (11) with a mounting tab (10) formed of a flexible material, a rotation-prevention clip (20) is attached to penetrate the mounting tab (10), a push retainer is attached to the rear of the mounting tab (10), and the mounting tab (10) is fixedly attached to the vehicle body (2) as a bolt (30) passes through the rotation-prevention clip (20) and the push retainer and is fastened to the vehicle body (2). Additionally, as the circularly folded curtain airbag cushion (1) is wrapped by a strap (40) connected to a mounting tab (10), the folded curtain airbag cushion (1) is formed into a structure that is fixedly connected to the vehicle body (2) by the strap (40), the mounting tab (10), and a bolt (30). In the conventional fixing device as described above, the mounting tab (10) is configured to be directly sewn together with the circularly folded curtain airbag cushion (1). For the sewing connection with the curtain airbag cushion (1), the mounting tab (10) is not formed from a hard, rigid steel material or plastic material, but is formed from a fabric material that usually has flexible properties. In addition, if the mounting tab (10) that is directly sewn together with the curtain airbag cushion (1) is formed of a hard steel or plastic material, there is a risk of damage to the curtain airbag cushion (1) when sewn together with the curtain airbag cushion (1). To prevent this, the mounting tab (10) is formed of a flexible fabric. However, the conventional fixing device has the disadvantage that it is difficult to maintain the assembly torque when assembling with the vehicle body (2) using a bolt (30) because the mounting tab (10) is formed of a flexible fabric material, and if the assembly torque is not maintained, the fastening force with the vehicle body (2) is weak and it is easily detached from the vehicle body (2). In addition, as the mounting tab (10) is formed of a flexible fabric material, the mounting tab (10) has difficulty maintaining its shape due to the load of the anti-rotation clip (20) and the push retainer attached to the mounting tab (10), causing sagging. Consequently, there is a disadvantage in that the assembly and workability are poor when assembling with the vehicle body (2) using a bolt (30). The matters described above as background technology are intended only to enhance understanding of the background of the present invention and should not be construed as an acknowledgment that they constitute prior art already known to those skilled in the art. FIG. 1 is a drawing of a folded curtain airbag cushion fixed to a vehicle body via a conventional fixing device.
