Description
Sealing part folding device of pouch-type secondary battery The present invention relates to a folding device, and more specifically, to a sealing part of a pouch-type secondary battery that enables the folding of the sealing part of the pouch-type secondary battery up to 270 degrees through a single folding device. Generally, unlike primary batteries that cannot be recharged, secondary batteries capable of charging and discharging are being actively researched due to developments in advanced fields such as digital cameras, cellular phones, laptop computers, power tools, electric bicycles, electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and large-capacity power storage devices. Among secondary batteries, lithium secondary batteries are classified into cylindrical, prismatic, and pouch types based on their external shape; due to the recent trend toward the miniaturization of mobile devices, the demand for thin prismatic and pouch-type batteries is increasing. Among these, attention is focused on pouch-type secondary batteries, which have no restrictions on shape or size, are easy to assemble via thermal fusion, facilitate the release of gas or liquid in the event of abnormal behavior, and are particularly suitable for manufacturing lightweight, thin-walled cells. A pouch-type secondary battery is typically composed of a multilayer film of an aluminum foil layer and a synthetic resin layer covering it. To form a pouch-type lithium secondary battery, an electrode assembly in which a positive electrode, a separator, and a negative electrode are sequentially stacked is first placed inside a pouch in a sealed state, and when the protruding edge portion of the open pouch is heat-sealed, the fused portion is sealed, and a sealing portion having a predetermined length is formed. As shown above, the protruding sealing part has a structure that folds so that the overall volume of the pouch-type secondary battery can be reduced when stacked. To this end, prior registered patent No. 10-1974443 discloses a structure for an automatic terrace folding device for a secondary battery cell, and the device sequentially bends the terrace (sealing part) of the secondary battery cell to 90 degrees, 180 degrees, and 270 degrees while continuously moving the secondary battery cell. However, although the above device can bend the terrace of a secondary battery cell up to 270 degrees through an inline method, this requires the provision of multiple individual folding devices such as a first folding section, a second folding section, and a third folding section, which inevitably leads to a longer folding cycle time. Moreover, there are issues such as increased equipment costs due to the multiple folding devices and the need to secure a large space.
