Description

Apparatus for Grinding of Cylindrical Metal Surface The present invention relates to a cylindrical metal surface polishing device. [R&D Project that Supported This Invention] Gyeonggi Economic & Science Promotion Agency [Research Project Name] Support Project for Business Convergence Growth of SMEs [Research Project Title] Development of a Surface Treatment Device for Cylindrical Mold Materials for Manufacturing Multifunctional Films [Principal Research Institute] Hexapro Co., Ltd. [Research Period] May 27, 2024 – October 31, 2024 Generally, various metal parts used in diverse industrial fields may undergo a grinding process after being machined into a specific shape to remove burrs from edges or machined surfaces and to smooth the surface. The process of manufacturing metal parts is achieved by cutting and plastically deforming the metal parts into a predetermined shape using cutting and pressing devices, followed by surface treatment through repeated polishing. Furthermore, surface polishing of metal is often essential not only in the manufacturing process of such metal parts but also in various other fields, and precision is a very important factor in metal surface polishing. Conventionally, a polishing method is widely used in which a metal part to be processed is brought into surface contact with a polishing means, such as a grinding stone, and friction is generated between the polishing means and the metal part to lower the surface roughness of the metal. However, conventional polishing methods have a problem in that the contact area between the polishing means and the metal part is not large, so multiple operations are required to polish the entire surface of the metal part, which not only takes a long time but also makes it difficult to achieve uniform polishing in each operation, resulting in uneven surface roughness of the final product. In addition, when the metal part to be polished is a cylindrical metal, it is difficult to maintain uniform surface roughness because the polishing process is tricky.
