Abstract

The present invention aims to provide an automotive luggage side trim that is environmentally friendly and has improved sound absorption performance compared to existing luggage side trims by being composed of a non-woven material, specifically wall paper, and a hard cotton felt layer. In particular, another objective of the present invention is to provide an automotive luggage side trim that is even more environmentally friendly and has further improved sound absorption performance by being composed of a mixture of recycled cotton felt, PET (Polyethylene terephthalate), and LM (Low Melt Fiber) as the hard cotton felt layer.

Description

Vehicle Luggage Side Trim The present invention relates to a luggage side trim for automobiles, and more specifically, to a luggage side trim manufactured by laminating a non-woven wall paper and a hard cotton felt layer, wherein the hard cotton felt layer is composed of a mixture of recycled cotton felt, PET (Polyethylene terephthalate), and LM (Low Melt Fiber), thereby enabling not only environmentally friendly performance and improved noise reduction but also a simplified manufacturing process. The luggage side trim of a vehicle is an interior panel that covers the left and right sides of the trunk or cargo compartment. It has an aesthetic improvement function that maintains a neat appearance by concealing metal, wires, screws, etc. inside the trunk; a protective function that prevents items loaded in the trunk from hitting the side of the vehicle body and causing damage or scratches; a noise reduction function that absorbs noise inside the trunk to reduce noise while driving; and some side trims have hooks or loops that allow for additional attachment functions, such as securing cargo or installing additional accessories for storage. (Patent Document 1) Korean Published Patent No. 10-2024-0063256 A method for manufacturing a luggage side trim according to one aspect comprises: an oven heating step in which a fabric laminated with W/paper, PET coating, PET foam, and non-woven fabric is heated in an oven; a foaming step in which PET foam is foam-molded simultaneously with the heating of the oven heating step; a cold pressing step in which the fabric that has undergone the oven heating step is formed into the shape of a luggage side trim using a cold presser; a trimming and piercing step in which a hole is formed or a cutting operation is performed on the fabric that has undergone the cold pressing step; and a bracket assembly step in which a bracket is assembled to the fabric that has undergone the piercing step. A method for manufacturing a luggage side trim may be provided, wherein the luggage side trim is configured to support the left or right wall of a trunk formed at the rear of a vehicle and is formed with a space expansion portion having one side protruding to one side to expand the space of the vehicle trunk, and the opposite side of the space expansion portion is formed as a seat connection portion extending to the rear seat of the vehicle; wherein the space expansion portion is formed by foam molding of at least 60% of the upper area of the space expansion portion during the foaming step, and the seat connection portion is formed by foam molding of at least 60% of the lower area during the foaming step, thereby forming a second sound-absorbing portion.
