Description

Military Shovel with Adjustable Length and Rotating Handles The present invention relates to a military field shovel, and more specifically, to a military field shovel that is lightweight and sized for easy portability, has an adjustable length according to the work purpose, and allows the handle to rotate. Generally, a shovel is a tool used for digging the ground and scooping up soil. Depending on its shape or use, shovels are classified into round shovels, square shovels, open-ended shovels, bush shovels, flower shovels, and field shovels. A round shovel is used for digging the ground with a round blade; a square shovel has a flat tip and is bent slightly upward on both sides to move soil or grain; an open-ended shovel is long and rectangular with a straight tip and is used to scoop up salt; a bush shovel is used to clear ash from a hearth or brazier or to carry and move charcoal; and a flower shovel is a small shovel about the size of a trowel, also called a seedling shovel. Furthermore, the military field shovel is an improved shovel used by soldiers, typically issued to individual soldiers by military units. It is used for constructing temporary barracks, digging drainage ditches, or hastily creating concealment trenches. Additionally, military field shovels are continuously being improved to enhance portability and versatility. In particular, unlike shovels used while standing when digging trenches during combat, military field shovels must be used while soldiers are in a concealed or cover position, so the handle and the shaft held by the hand are short. As such, military field shovels have a structure where the shaft and handle are short and the length is non-adjustable; consequently, the short length results in a small moment, causing significant fatigue to the user. The lack of moment transmission due to the short length of the military field shovel not only increases physical exertion for the user but also causes discomfort depending on the user's physical condition. Moreover, the handles of conventional military field shovels are fixed, which can cause discomfort depending on the angle of the individual user's wrist. If the external appearance of a conventional military field shovel is maintained, there is also a problem in that the effect on moment size and practicality is very limited. FIG. 1 is an assembled perspective view and an exploded perspective view showing a military field shovel having length adjustment and a rotary handle, according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a plan view showing a military field shovel with adjustable length and a rotary handle according to the present invention.
