Description
Vehicle Side Sill Assembly The present invention relates to a vehicle front side member assembly, and more specifically, to a vehicle front side member assembly capable of minimizing passenger injury by inducing a certain deformation during a collision of the vehicle. Recently, various vehicles such as MPVs (Multi-Purpose Vehicles) and electric vehicles are implementing a cap-forward design to ensure sufficient interior space and improve performance. To implement a cab-forward design, the front overhang can be configured to be relatively short by moving the cowl panel forward compared to the design of existing vehicles. Furthermore, to implement a cab-forward design, the windshield glass must be configured to move forward compared to existing vehicle designs to align with the position of the cowl panel, and it is necessary to satisfy windshield fixability regulations in the domestic and North American markets. Windshield fixability regulations are designed to prevent windshield breakage in order to ensure airbag deployment support during a collision; thus, development must be directed toward reducing body deformation (dynamic deformation) during a collision. Reducing body deformation allows the vehicle to absorb relatively less collision energy, and the remaining energy may be transferred to the passenger compartment. Accordingly, it is necessary to reduce body deformation precisely to the extent that the windshield does not break. However, existing front side members had a disadvantage in that it was difficult to deform the front side member consistently while satisfying windshield fixation regulations, as there was variation in the amount of deformation of the vehicle body due to collisions. The matters described in this background technology section are written to enhance understanding of the background of the invention and may include matters that are not prior art already known to those skilled in the art to which this technology belongs.
