Description

Antifoaming agent, lubricating oil composition containing an antifoaming agent, and a machine using the lubricating oil composition The present invention relates to an antifoaming agent, a lubricating oil composition comprising an antifoaming agent, and a machine using the lubricating oil composition. Recently, reducing carbon dioxide emissions has become an important theme in the industrial sector. Among them, carbon dioxide emissions from transportation equipment, including automobiles, account for nearly 20% of the total, and as one of the countermeasures to reduce this, the transition from gasoline cars to electric vehicles (EVs) is being proposed as a policy by various countries. The most critical challenge for EVs is improving fuel efficiency, and to this end, efforts to miniaturize the vehicle body and increase the efficiency of the powertrain are progressing rapidly. One of the challenges in increasing powertrain efficiency is the formation of foam in lubricants. While lubricants are becoming less viscous to reduce frictional resistance, this lower viscosity makes them more prone to foaming. When high-load operation or high-speed driving is performed continuously, foaming increases in low-viscosity lubricating oil, and due to this foaming, lubrication performance and cooling efficiency deteriorate; wear and seizure occur due to the rupture of the oil film at friction points; and problems such as accelerated deterioration of the lubricating oil due to the rise in oil temperature have occurred. For this reason, a lubricant with high antifoaming properties is required to suppress foaming from the beginning of operation over a long period, and the lubricant includes an antifoaming agent to prevent foam generation. As said antifoaming agents, polysiloxane-based antifoaming agents are known, and various polysiloxane-based antifoaming agents have been proposed (e.g., Patent Document 1). Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described. The present invention is not limited to the following embodiments, and may be implemented with appropriate modifications within a range that does not impair the effects of the present invention. In addition, in the present specification, "(meth)acrylate" refers to one or both of acrylate and methacrylate. [Antifoamer] The defoaming agent of the present invention comprises a polymerizing monomer (1) having one polymerizable unsaturated group and having a functional group represented by -Si[OSi(R) 3 ] n [R'] 3 -n (n is an integer from 1 to 3. R is each independently an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms. R' is each independently an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms), and a polymerizing monomer (2) having two or more polymerizable unsaturated groups as at least polymerizing components. Here, "polymerization component" refers to a component that constitutes a polymer, and does not include solvents or polymerization initiators that do not constitute a polymer. In the present invention, "polymerizable monomer" means a compound having a polymerizable unsaturated group, and the polymerizable unsaturated groups having the polymerizable monomer (1) and the polymerizable monomer (2) may include a (meth)acryloyl group, a (meth)acryloyloxy group, a (meth)acryloylamide group, a vinyl ether group, an allyl group, a styryl group, a (meth)acryloylamino group, a maleimide group, etc. A polymer having at least the polymerizable monomer (1) and polymerizable monomer (2), which are the antifoaming agents of the present invention, as polymerization components may be referred to as the “polymer of the present invention.” Hereinafter, each component constituting the polymer of the present invention will be described. The functional group represented by -Si[OSi(R) 3 ] n [R'] 3 -n of the polymerizable monomer (1) is preferably the functional group represented by -Si[OSi(R) 3 ] 3 , and more preferably -Si[OSi( CH3 ) 3 ] 3 . The polymerizable monomer (1) is preferably a compound represented by the following general formula (1-1). (Among the above general formula (1-1), R is each independently an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms. R' is each independently an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms.
