Abstract

An adjustable weight dumbbell comprises a handle assembly having a handle and plates at both ends. The outer surface of each plate is configured to be detachably coupled to one or more outer weights so that the total weight of the dumbbell is adjusted according to the number of outer weights connected. Additionally, the inner surface of each plate is configured to be detachably coupled to an inner weight to further adjust the total weight of the dumbbell. The inner weight may have a weight smaller than the outer weight. The adjustable weight dumbbell is supported on a cradle that facilitates the attachment and removal of the outer and inner weights as needed or desired.
