  1.   6. A composition according to claim 5, wherein the pomegranate fruit extract comprises at least 10% by weight, at least 15% by weight, or at least 20% by weight of punicalagin based on the total weight of the pomegranate fruit extract.
  7. A composition according to claim 1, wherein the melon concentrate powder comprises at least 12,000 IU/g of superoxide dismutase or at least 14,000 IU/g of superoxide dismutase.
  8. A composition according to claim 1, wherein the olive fruit extract comprises at least 5% by weight, at least 8% by weight, or at least 10% by weight of hydroxytyrosol based on the total weight of the olive fruit extract.
  9. A composition according to claim 1, wherein at least one tablet, capsule, candy, gummy, jelly, freeze-dried block, or soft gel comprises the entire serving amount of the composition.
  10. A composition according to claim 1, wherein a combination of two tablets, capsules, candies, gummies, jellies, freeze-dried blocks, or soft gels comprises the entire serving size of the composition.
  11. A composition according to claim 1, wherein a combination of three tablets, capsules, candies, gummies, jellies, freeze-dried blocks, or soft gels comprises the entire serving size of the composition.
  12. A composition according to claim 1, wherein the tablet, capsule, candy, gummy, jelly, freeze-dried block, or soft gel further comprises one or more of sugar alcohol, starch, resistant dextrin, sweetener, xanthan gum, gelatin, guar gum, carrageenan, glucose fructose syrup, maltose syrup, pectin, lactose, magnesium stearate, maltodextrin, fruit powder, coating material, microcrystalline cellulose, sucralose, silicon dioxide, citric acid, anti-alcohol agent, and stearic acid.
  13. A composition according to claim 1, wherein the composition is a powder or granule.
  14. A composition according to claim 13, wherein the powder further comprises one or more of sugar alcohols, fructose, maltodextrin, fruit powder, sucralose, steviol glycoside, citric acid, and malic acid.
  15. A composition according to claim 1, wherein the composition is a liquid product.

Description

Skin whitening composition Cross-reference regarding related applications This application claims the benefit of priority from PCT application number PCT/CN2023/116586 filed on September 1, 2023, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technology field The present invention relates to the field of skin care supplements. For example, the present invention relates to a composition useful for whitening the skin of a subject and/or for protecting the skin from free radicals and/or ultraviolet rays. Skin whitening is a very popular treatment among the Asian population. For many consumers in these cultures, skin whitening can be a symbol of beauty and wealth. Cosmetic consumers in Western countries, as well as the Asian population, are now recognizing that skin whitening (or what Western consumers call skin brightening/lightening) is highly desirable for treating skin problems such as uneven pigmentation, age spots, and freckles that can be caused by excessive sun exposure. Furthermore, recent studies indicate that radiance is a characteristic of youthful skin. Even pigmentation, healthy oxygenation, and a flawless skin surface contribute to the radiant skin of youth. Additionally, skin problems can be caused by UV exposure and free radicals. The present invention provides a skin care supplement composition. For example, the present invention provides a skin care supplement composition useful for consumption by humans or animals. The skin care supplement composition provided herein may whiten the skin, protect the skin from ultraviolet rays, and provide antioxidant effects on the skin. Generally, the supplement composition provided herein comprises melon concentrate powder or yeast, pomegranate fruit extract, and olive fruit extract. Generally, the skin care supplement compositions described herein can improve the skin health of subjects receiving the compositions. As provided herein, the skin health supplement compositions may include one or more of the benefits described herein. The combination of ingredients in the composition, including melon concentrate powder, pomegranate fruit extract, and olive fruit extract, provides diverse and complementary mechanisms for the subject's overall skin health and skin whitening. For example, the supplement compositions provided herein may act to provide benefits to the skin. In some cases, the skin care supplement compositions provided herein may provide benefits to the skin by acting to prevent or protect the skin from damage or overexposure caused by ultraviolet rays and free radicals. Additionally, the skin care supplement compositions provided herein may provide skin protective benefits by having an antioxidant effect. In some cases, the combination of melon concentrate powder, pomegranate fruit extract, and olive fruit extract in the composition may provide a synergistic effect (e.g., with respect to a reduction in the percentage of melanin content) so as to provide a statistically significantly higher level of skin health benefits than when melon concentrate powder, pomegranate fruit extract, or olive fruit extract are used alone, or when any two of the three ingredients are used without the remaining one. In one aspect, a composition is provided comprising a melon concentrate powder or yeast containing 1,000 IU/g to 100,000 IU/g of superoxide dismutase; a pomegranate fruit extract containing at least 5 weight% of polyphenols based on the total weight of the pomegranate fruit extract; and an olive fruit extract containing at least 1 weight% of hydroxytyrosol based on the total weight of the olive fruit extract. In some embodiments, the composition comprises about 0.2 wt% to about 84 wt% of melon concentrate powder, about 0.01 wt% to about 99.6 wt% of pomegranate fruit extract, and about 0.01 wt% to about 99.6 wt% of olive fruit extract, based on the total weight of the composition. In some embodiments, the composition comprises about 1.6 wt% to about 20 wt% of melon concentrate powder, about 10 wt% to about 55.6 wt% of pomegranate fruit extract, and about 37.5 wt% to about 87 wt% of olive fruit extract, based on the total weight of the composition. In some embodiments, the pomegranate fruit extract comprises at least 10 wt%, at least 20 wt%, at least 30 wt%, or at least 40 wt% of polyphenols, based on the total weight of the pomegranate fruit extract. In some embodiments, the pomegranate fruit extract further comprises punicalagin. In some embodiments, the pomegranate fruit extract comprises at least 10% by weight, at least 15% by weight, or at least 20% by weight of punicalagin based on the total weight of the pomegranate fruit extract.
