Description
Renewable bio-based highly hygroscopic dehumidifying agent and its manufacturing method The present invention relates to a renewable bio-based highly hygroscopic dehumidifier and a method for manufacturing the same. More specifically, the invention relates to a dehumidifier that uses an eco-friendly material extracted from biomass to have high hygroscopicity and can be regenerated for repeated use, and a method for manufacturing the same. While these desiccant agents have excellent moisture absorption performance, they have the disadvantage of causing environmental pollution during the production process and consuming a large amount of energy during the regeneration process. 1 The present invention relates to a renewable bio-based highly hygroscopic dehumidifier and a method for manufacturing the same. The biomass used in the present invention may include various organic materials such as plants, animals, and microorganisms. The type of biomass is not particularly limited, and wood, crops, seaweed, food waste, etc., may be used. The dehumidifier of the present invention comprises porous cellulose, chitosan, starch, or a mixture thereof extracted from biomass. These materials possess high hygroscopicity and, as they are natural polymers, exhibit excellent biodegradability.
