Description

Composition for Inhibiting Sebum Secretion Containing Camellia Saponin The present specification discloses a composition for inhibiting sebum secretion comprising camellia saponin as an active ingredient. Hair follicles are composed of various cells, with dermal papilla cells in the hair bulb and sebaceous gland cells and hair follicle stem cells located in the hair root. Sebum secreted by the sebaceous glands plays an important role in providing moisture and shine to the skin and protecting it from external microorganisms. However, excessive sebum secretion can be a cause of various skin conditions, such as acne and seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp. In particular, sebum on the scalp is produced by the activation of sebaceous gland cells. It is known that sebaceous glands are activated and secrete sebum due to environmental factors and hormonal influences, but it has not been revealed what mechanism activates sebaceous gland cells to actually cause sebum secretion when heat treatment is applied. FIG. 1 is the result of observing the effect of a composition according to one embodiment of the present disclosure on inhibiting the secretion of sebum (induced by hormones). FIG. 2 is the result of observing the effect of a composition according to one embodiment of the present disclosure on inhibiting sebum secretion (induced by heat). The present invention will be explained in more detail below through the following examples. However, the following examples are provided for illustrative purposes only to aid in understanding the present invention, and the scope and range of the present invention are not limited thereto. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, a composition for inhibiting sebum secretion is provided, comprising camellia saponin as an active ingredient. In another exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a method for inhibiting sebum secretion is provided, comprising administering a composition containing camellia saponin as an active ingredient. In another exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the use of camellia saponin is provided for preparing a composition for inhibiting sebum secretion. In another exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a non-therapeutic use of camellia saponin is provided for inhibiting sebum secretion. In another exemplary embodiment of the present invention, camellia saponin is provided to inhibit sebum secretion. In one embodiment, the sebum secretion may be due to heat. According to the present disclosure, camellia saponins can suppress the increase in sebum secretion, which appears as the most direct symptom along with the increase in sweat excretion caused by heat in an environment showing tropicalization following global warming. In one embodiment, the camellia saponin may be extracted from camellia seed cake. Camellia japonica seed cake refers to the residue discarded after oil extraction from camellia seeds. In one embodiment, the extract may be obtained by extracting, separating, and fractionating from nature using methods of extraction, separation, and fractionation known in the art, and may be extracted according to various extraction or fractionation solvents and extraction methods. For example, the extraction solvent for the above extract may be any solvent known in the art, such as water or ethanol, without limitation. In one embodiment, the extraction method may include hot water extraction, cold maceration extraction, reflux cooling extraction, solvent extraction, steam distillation, ultrasonic extraction, supercritical extraction, elution, and pressing, but is not limited thereto. In one embodiment, after obtaining the extract as described above, a liquid product may be obtained by cold maceration, heating, and filtration at room temperature using conventional methods known in the art, or the solvent may be further evaporated, spray-dried, or freeze-dried. In addition, the extract obtained as described above may be prepared in a powder state by additional processes such as vacuum distillation and freeze-drying or spray-drying. In one embodiment, the camellia saponin may include one or more selected from the group consisting of camellia saponin A1, camellia saponin A2, camellia saponin B1, camellia saponin B2, camellia saponin C1, and camellia saponin C2. For example, the above camellia saponin is Camelliasaponin A1, which is 3β-[2-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-3-O-(2-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-α-L-arabinopyranosyl)-β-D-glucopyranuronosyloxy]oleana-12-en-16α,22α,28-triol22-[(Z)-2-methyl-2-butenoate], Camelliasaponin A2, 3β-[2-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-3-O-(2-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-α-L-arabinopyranosyl)-β-D-glucopyranuronosyloxy)oleana-12-en-16α,22α,28-triol22-[(E)-2-methyl-2-butenoate] 3β-[2-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-3-O-(2-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-α-L-arabinopyranosyl)-β-D-glucopyranuronosyloxy)-16α,28-dihydroxy-22α-[[(Z)-2-methyl-2-butenoyl]oxy]oleana-12-en-23-alin Camelliasaponin B1, 3β-[[2-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-3-O-(2-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-α-L-
