KR-20260066649-A - DOOR LATCH RELEASE DEVICE AND METHOD THEREOF
Abstract
The present invention relates to a door latch release device. The door latch release device comprises a door latch release device having a structure in which a latch is received in a groove of a door frame when the door is closed. The door latch release device comprises a first part formed along one direction, having an area of a predetermined size, extending outwardly, and fixed to the outside of the groove; a second part extending from the first part and recessed into the groove; a third part extending from the second part and fixed to the inside of the groove; and an operating part extending inwardly from the third part and fixed to the inner door frame. When the operating part is pulled while the door is closed, the second part unfolds from the first part and pushes the latch to release the restraint of the latch.

Description
Door Latch Release Device and Method Thereof The present invention relates to a door latch release device and a method thereof, and more specifically, to a latch release device and a method thereof that releases the restraint of a latch by pushing the latch using structural features. Generally, doors in residential or commercial facilities are equipped with a latch device for opening, closing, and locking the door. The latch operates in conjunction with the handle to open and close the door and serves to keep the door closed by engaging with the strike plate of the door frame. However, these latches can malfunction due to wear and tear on internal parts from prolonged use, corrosion caused by moisture, or external impact. In particular, in humid spaces such as restrooms or bathrooms, rust or corrosion inside the latch frequently leads to operational failure. Furthermore, if the internal spring or connecting parts are damaged, the latch will not operate properly even when the handle is turned, resulting in the door failing to open. The problems arising from this are on the rise, and in particular, when a bathroom door breaks and you get trapped, you may become isolated in a confined space for a long time, leading to panic disorder or claustrophobia, or you may get injured while attempting to escape. However, when a latch malfunctions, opening the door requires requesting rescue services, consulting a professional locksmith, or forcibly breaking the door, which consumes a significant amount of time and money, and poses a problem in that a rapid response is difficult, especially in emergency situations. To address these issues, some emergency release devices have been developed for vehicle doors that allow them to be opened mechanically even in the event of an electrical failure; however, latch release devices applicable to general building doors have hardly been developed. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop a latch release device that allows users to easily open the door even when the latch is malfunctioning.
