Description

Cap Assembly and Battery Cell Comprising The Same The present disclosure relates to a cap assembly and a battery cell comprising the same. Generally, a battery cell has a structure that accommodates an electrode assembly in a case and may include a cap assembly that covers the case. The cap assembly may be coupled to the case and may be electrically connected to the electrode assembly. Electrode terminals that are electrically connected to an external component may be formed protruding outwardly on the cap assembly. Meanwhile, the cap assembly includes an electrical insulating member, which is vulnerable to heat and is at risk of being damaged by heat. Accordingly, there is a need for measures to protect the insulating member from heat. FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a bidirectional battery cell according to the present disclosure. Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view of the cap assembly. Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view of a cap assembly. Figure 4 is a cross-sectional view showing the electrode assembly coupled to the cap assembly. FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a unidirectional battery cell according to the present disclosure. Preferred embodiments of the present disclosure are described in detail below with reference to the attached drawings. The configuration of the device or the control method described below are intended only to explain the embodiments of the present disclosure and are not intended to limit the scope of the rights of the present disclosure, and reference numerals used identically throughout the specification indicate identical components. FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a bidirectional battery cell according to the present disclosure. Referring to FIG. 1, a battery cell (100) according to the present disclosure may include an electrode assembly (101) for producing or storing electrical energy, a case (102) for housing the electrode assembly (101) in a receiving space formed inside, a cap assembly (110a) coupled to the case (102) to cover one open side of the case (102), and a cap assembly (110b) coupled to the case (102) to cover the other open side of the case (102). The battery cell (100) of the present disclosure may represent a bidirectional battery cell in which a positive terminal is formed on one side of an electrode assembly (101) and a negative terminal of the electrode assembly (101) is formed on the other side of the electrode assembly (101).
