Description

System and Method for Creating an Indoor Environment Through Biophilic Interior Design in Harmony with Nature System and Method for Creating an Indoor Environment Through Biophilic Interior Design in Harmony with Nature The present invention relates to interior design technology for improving indoor environments, and more specifically, to a system and method that aims to provide users with an indoor environment capable of interacting with nature by applying biophilic design. The purpose of the present invention is to improve environmental conditions such as air quality, humidity, and illuminance through the application of natural elements in indoor spaces, and to provide the effect of enhancing users' psychological stability and concentration. The system is configured to maximize ecological experiences indoors through the placement of plants for indoor air purification and humidity control, furniture and decorations utilizing natural materials, integrated lighting design combining natural and artificial light, and sensory textures. Such biophilic interiors can be applied to various indoor environments, such as offices, residential spaces, and commercial spaces. In modern society, the disconnection from nature is intensifying due to lifestyle patterns where most time is spent indoors, and research reports indicate that this lifestyle can lead to stress, decreased concentration, and health problems. Conventional interior design methods have primarily focused on the functionality and aesthetic elements of a space, but this approach has limitations in providing users with natural experiences. Recently, biophilic design, which implements elements similar to nature in indoor environments to provide positive psychological effects to users, has been gaining attention, and various design methods including air purification, humidity control, and the utilization of natural light are being researched. However, existing biophilic designs often apply plants or partial natural materials in a fragmented manner, which falls short in providing users with a consistent ecological experience. To overcome these limitations, this invention aims to provide a more organic and sustainable biophilic interior system by integrating natural elements. This invention is realized through various components to incorporate natural elements into indoor spaces, enabling users to obtain a sustainable ecological experience. First, various air-purifying plants are strategically placed to regulate indoor air quality and humidity. Air purification effects are maximized through ceiling-mountable moss walls and wall gardens, and a system is applied to constantly circulate indoor air using plant groups with excellent purification capabilities. Furniture and decorative items are primarily crafted using natural materials such as wood, stone, and soil, and consist of materials certified for eco-friendliness. Natural light is maximized through large windows, and an automatic lighting control system adjusts lighting according to the time of day and season to provide users with consistently comfortable illumination. Walls and flooring are finished with wood panels and natural stone to allow for a sense of natural texture, and the natural elements within the interior enhance the user's psychological stability. This system is designed to allow for the seasonal replacement and maintenance of plants, providing a continuous ecological experience.
