Abstract

The present invention discloses a water meter protection box comprising: a body in the shape of a housing with an open top; a lid for opening and closing the top of the body; a water meter having pipes for water intake and water output connected to each of the two ends inside to measure the water flow of a water consumer; a remote meter reading terminal connected to the water meter to receive flow rate data measured by the water meter and transmit it wirelessly; and an insulating material filled inside the housing to prevent freezing of the water meter. The water meter protection box comprises: a main body part consisting of a body with an open top to surround the water meter and the remote meter reading terminal, having two through holes formed on the side or bottom surface for each pipe to pass through; and a cover part for opening and closing the top of the main body part. The water meter protection box is sealed so that moisture does not pass between the through holes of the main body part and the pipes passing through the through holes, thereby protecting the water meter and the remote meter reading terminal housed in the waterproof case from moisture.

A water meter protection box comprising: a body (1) in the shape of a housing with an open top; a lid (2) for opening and closing the top of the body; a water meter (5) having pipes (3) connected to each of the two ends for water intake and water output to measure the water flow of a consumer; a remote meter reading terminal (6) connected to the water meter to receive flow rate data measured by the water meter and transmit it wirelessly; and an insulating material (7) filled inside the housing to prevent freezing of the water meter. A waterproof case (9) is provided, comprising: a main body (10) which is formed as a body with an open top to surround the water meter and remote meter reading terminal, and has two through holes (11) formed on the side or bottom surface for each pipe to pass through; and a cover part (20) which opens and closes the top of the main body. A water meter protection case characterized by the fact that the space between the through hole (11) of the main body and the pipe (3) passing through the through hole is sealed so that moisture does not pass through, thereby protecting the water meter and remote meter reading terminal embedded in the waterproof case from moisture.
  2. In paragraph 1, A water meter protective case characterized by having a vacuum valve (22) provided in the main body or cover portion to block air from entering the waterproof case after the air inside the waterproof case is sucked out to the outside using an air suction device, thereby maintaining a vacuum state inside the waterproof case.
  3. In paragraph 1, In the above-mentioned through hole (11), a cylindrical coupling part (12) having screw threads formed on its outer surface is extended so as to protrude vertically, and A water meter protective casing characterized by a packing (14) inserted into the inner side of the joint portion to seal the space between the through hole and the pipe, a ring-shaped washer (16) placed on the packing, a cylindrical plug portion (18) formed on the washer with a central hole (181) through which the pipe passes in the center of the upper surface and a screw thread corresponding to the screw thread of the joint portion formed on the inner surface of the side, and screw-coupled to seal the space between the through hole and the pipe.
  4. In paragraph 1, A cylindrical extension (13) is vertically formed protruding from the above through hole (11), and A water meter protective casing characterized in that the space between the above-mentioned through hole and the extension is sealed with a waterproof material.
  5. In any one of paragraphs 1 through 4, The interior of the above waterproof case is filled with an internal insulation material (94) that surrounds the water meter, and A water meter protective casing characterized by having an insertion portion formed in the internal insulation material into which a remote meter reading terminal is inserted.

Description

Water meter protection case The present invention relates to a water meter protective casing, and more specifically, to a water meter protective casing comprising: a body in the shape of a housing with an open top; a lid for opening and closing the top of the body; a water meter having pipes for water inlet and outlet connected to each of the two ends inside to measure the water flow of a consumer; a remote meter reading terminal connected to the water meter to receive flow rate data measured by the water meter and transmit it wirelessly; and an insulating material filled inside the housing to prevent freezing of the water meter. The protective casing comprises: a main body portion composed of a housing with an open top to surround the water meter and the remote meter reading terminal, and having two through holes formed on the side or bottom surface for each pipe to pass through; The present invention relates to a water meter protection case comprising a waterproof case comprising a cover portion that opens and closes the upper part of the main body portion, wherein the space between the through hole of the main body portion and the piping pipe passing through the through hole is sealed to prevent moisture from passing through, thereby protecting the water meter and remote meter reading terminal embedded in the waterproof case from moisture. Generally, a water meter is a device installed by a protective casing in a relatively low underground location outdoors where water is supplied, designed to accurately measure the flow rate of water and determine the amount of water used at each location over a certain period; it is an essential device installed in every household, factory, and other facility that uses water. However, when severe cold weather strikes during the winter, water meters or the pipes connected to them may freeze. In severe cases, the water meter may freeze and become inoperable, or it may leak severely and fail to function properly at all. Therefore, taking into account the above problems, water meter insulation is typically inserted inside the water meter protection box to protect and insulate the water meter. Meanwhile, in the past, when measuring water consumption at a customer's home, a meter reader had to visit each customer individually, open the cover of the protective casing, and open the meter reading cover of the insulation installed inside to check the water consumption and record the accumulated value. However, this method had the problem of consuming a large amount of manpower and time, and there were also problems with frequent errors occurring during the process of recording the accumulated value or applying the recorded value to the computer system. To address these issues, a remote meter reading terminal is recently installed inside the protective casing to transmit data read from the water meter to the meter reader's reading terminal via the remote meter reading terminal. The remote meter reading terminal is connected to the water meter via a cable, receives flow rate data measured by the water meter, and transmits it wirelessly to the outside. Since the above remote meter reading terminal must receive data via a wired connection and transmit it wirelessly, it is an electronic device configured to include an electronic circuit section, a transmitter section, and a battery section. Water is constantly passing through the water meter protective casing, and moisture frequently accumulates due to factors such as the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the casing. Since water meters and remote reading terminals are electronic devices, there is a problem in that they are highly susceptible to malfunction when exposed to high levels of moisture. Therefore, there is a technical challenge to prevent moisture from accumulating inside the protective casing where the remote reading terminal is located, so that the water meter, remote reading terminal, and battery installed inside the casing can maintain durability and prevent malfunctions for a long time.
