Description
Method and apparatus of checking seats for pregnant woman The present invention relates to a method and device for verifying a pregnant woman's seat. Priority seating for pregnant women on buses was introduced in 2009 as part of the 'Happy Bus Day' campaign to encourage proper stopping on Seoul city buses, with the aim of showing consideration for pregnant women, who are considered vulnerable road users. Currently, it is widely distributed nationwide on public transportation such as buses and subways. During the implementation process, a problem emerged where early-stage pregnant women, whose condition is not outwardly apparent, found it difficult to use priority seating. Consequently, the system was improved to allow for the identification of even early-stage pregnant women who cannot be visually identified through the use of pregnancy badges. However, there are many instances where passengers seated in priority seats do not yield their seats even when the pregnant woman is wearing a badge. This occurs for various reasons, such as failing to see the badge or intentionally refusing to move, and it is realistically difficult to enforce such behavior solely on the grounds that the seat is a priority one. Furthermore, many pregnant women do not use the badges because obtaining one requires visiting a public health center or a subway desk, and the borrowing and returning process is cumbersome and inconvenient. Additionally, many people assume they can freely use the priority seats as long as the pregnant woman is not nearby, causing pregnant women the inconvenience of having to personally request that the seat be yielded. This contradicts the original intent of the priority seating system, and a system capable of checking the status of the seats in real time is necessary to resolve this. To facilitate smoother access to priority seating for pregnant women, consideration must be given to methods and devices that allow them to check the seat availability and make preparations in advance. FIG. 1 is a flowchart illustrating a method for checking a pregnant woman's seat according to one embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a block diagram of a device for performing a pregnant woman seat verification method according to an embodiment of the present invention. In describing the embodiments of the present invention, detailed descriptions of known technologies related to the present invention are omitted if it is determined that such detailed descriptions may unnecessarily obscure the essence of the invention. Furthermore, the terms described below are defined in consideration of their functions within the present invention, and these definitions may vary depending on the intentions or practices of the user or operator. Therefore, such definitions should be based on the content throughout this specification.
