Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a secondary battery and a battery pack including the same. The technical problem to be solved is to provide a secondary battery and a battery pack including the same, wherein a notching portion is formed on a current collector plate that serves as an electrical passage to secure a flow path for relieving internal pressure in the event of a short circuit. To this end, the present disclosure provides a secondary battery comprising: a case; a cap assembly disposed inside the case and coupled to an electrode assembly case having a non-contained portion and positioned facing the electrode assembly; a first current collector plate coupled to a non-contained portion disposed between the electrode assembly and the cap assembly; and a notching portion formed to avoid the welding line between the first current collector plate and the non-contained portion, and which breaks when internal pressure occurs.
