Description

Air Purifier The present invention relates to an air purifier. An air purifier is a device that forcibly draws in contaminated outside air, purifies it, and then discharges the purified, filtered air to the outside. Such air purifiers are configured to forcibly draw in contaminated air in indoor spaces, such as homes or offices, filter it for dust collection, and then recirculate the purified air back into the room. The air discharged from the air purifier provides comfort to the user. Such an air purifier may include an inlet for introducing air into the interior, a filter for filtering out dust and odor particles contained in the air introduced into the interior, and one or more outlets for discharging the air filtered by the filter. With the advancement of air purifier technology, there has been an increasing demand for air purifiers that can provide filtered air to areas relatively far from the unit without occupying much indoor space. Furthermore, there has been a growing demand for air purifiers capable of purifying indoor air in the vertical direction as well, by discharging filtered air from the top, bottom, or center of the unit. However, conventional air purifiers had a problem in that the air outlet was fixed to a specific part of the air purifier, limiting the area where filtered air was supplied. To solve these problems, air purifiers have been developed in which the air discharge direction of the air purifier is changed to the upper or lower side by raising and lowering the body including the discharge port in the vertical direction. In this regard, the present applicant’s Korean Published Patent Application 10-2024-0068325 “Air Purifier (Patent Document 1)” discloses that a guide unit is positioned on the upper side of a body to change the airflow direction, and that the guide unit moves up and down. Specifically, it discloses that the guide unit is spaced upward from the body and exposed to the outside. However, in Patent Document 1, components are arranged on the lower side of the guide unit, and when the guide unit is in a raised state, the components are exposed to the outside. As a result, when the guide unit is in a raised state, the components on the lower side of the guide unit are visible at the user's eye level, which causes foreign substances such as dust to accumulate inside, and not only does the components not appear visually organized, but also obstructs the flow of air discharged from the air purifier. In the applicant's Korean Published Patent Application 10-2024-0085457 "Air purifier" (Patent Document 2), it is disclosed that a guide unit is positioned on the upper side of the body to change the airflow direction, and that the guide unit moves up and down. Specifically, Patent Document 2 discloses that a screw is positioned on the lower side of the guide unit to cover the upper side of the guide unit. However, the screws of Patent Document 2 are arranged in multiple numbers on the lower side of the guide unit, and due to the arrangement of the screws, screw holes are formed on the lower surface of the guide unit, forming a discontinuous surface. Due to this discontinuous shape of the lower surface of the guide unit, there is a problem that the flow of purified air discharged from the discharge port is not smooth. For example, a vortex phenomenon may occur in the lower part of the guide unit. Therefore, there is a growing need for air purifiers that solve these problems while also featuring a clean design with visually concealed components.
