- 1. A method comprising:
- determining the level of one or more metabolites in a sample obtained from a subject, wherein the subject has received:
- (i) a composition comprising one or more strains of microorganisms;
- (ii) a composition comprising one or more lipopolysaccharides; or
- (iii) a combination of them.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the subject is a mammal.
- 3. The method according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the subject is a human being.
- 4. The method according to any one of claims 1-3, wherein one or more strains of microorganisms are representatives of the mammalian microbiome.
- 5. The method according to any one of claims 1-4, wherein one or more strains of microorganisms are representatives of the human microbiome.
- 6. The method according to any one of claims 1-5, wherein one or more strains of microorganisms are representatives of the microbiome of the subject.
- 7. The method according to any one of claims 1-6, wherein one or more strains of microorganisms are selected from TABLE 5.
