- A device for heating plants being grown in a greenhouse, comprising an infrared emitter suspended from the ceiling, characterized in that it additionally comprises a steam generator supplying water vapor to the plant growth zone, an automatic thermostat controlling the steam generator and the infrared emitter, wherein the infrared emitter has a wavelength of 5.5 to 7.0 μm, and a means for regulating the height of the infrared emitter above the plants.
