Claims (20)

  1. 1. A nutritional composition comprising urea, a non-digestible oligosaccharide and lactic acid-producing bacteria, wherein the non-digestible oligosaccharide comprises one or more human milk oligosaccharides selected from the group consisting of 2'-fucosyllactose (2'-FL), 3-fucosyllactose (3-FL), 3'-sialyllactose (3'-SL) and 6'-sialyllactose (6'-SL), and wherein the lactic acid-producing bacteria comprise a Bifidobacterium longum ssp infantis strain capable of expressing urease and a Bifidobacterium bifidum strain capable of expressing at least one extracellular enzyme selected from fucosidase and sialidase and incapable of expressing urease.
  2. 2. The nutritional composition according to claim 1, containing 2'-fucosyllactose, preferably containing at least 0.01 g/100 ml 2'-fucosyllactose, preferably from 0.01 g/100 ml to 1 g/100 ml 2'-fucosyllactose.
  3. 3. A nutritional composition according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the indigestible oligosaccharide further comprises beta-galactooligosaccharides containing beta-1,4-linkages and characterized by a degree of polymerization of at least 4.
  4. 4. A nutritional composition according to any one of the preceding claims, which further comprises a strain of Bifidobacterium breve capable of expressing extracellular beta-1,4-endogalactanase and which is preferably incapable of expressing fucosidase and incapable of expressing sialidase.
  5. 5. A nutritional composition according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the indigestible oligosaccharide further comprises indigestible polyfructose, preferably with an average degree of polymerization of at least 11.
  6. 6. A nutritional composition according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising at least four, preferably at least five human milk oligosaccharides selected from the group consisting of 2'-fucosyllactose, 3-fucosyllactose, 3'-sialyllactose, 6'-sialyllactose, lacto-N-tetraose, lacto-N-neotetraose and difucosyllactose.
  7. 7. A nutritional composition according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein urea is present in an amount of at least 15 mg per 100 ml, preferably from 15 to 75 mg per 100 ml, and/or at least 0.11 wt.% based on the dry weight of the composition, preferably from 0.11 wt.% to 0.55 wt.% based on the dry weight of the composition, and/or at least 22 mg, preferably from 22 to 112 mg per 100 kcal.
  8. 8. A nutritional composition according to any of the preceding claims, further comprising a protein, a digestible carbohydrate and a lipid.
  9. 9. The nutritional composition according to claim 8, which is a formula for children in the first half of life, a formula for children in the second half of life, or a formula for young children, preferably a formula for children in the first half of life.
  10. 10. The nutritional composition according to any one of claims 8, 9, wherein urea is present in an amount of at least 1.13 wt.%, preferably from 1.13 to 5.6 wt.%, based on the total protein content.
  11. 11. A nutritional composition according to any one of paragraphs 8-10, containing from 1.0 to 2.1 g of protein per 100 kcal.
  12. 12. A nutritional composition according to any one of claims 8 to 11, comprising at least 90% by weight of cow's milk proteins based on the total protein content.
  13. 13. A nutritional composition according to any of the preceding claims, comprising at least 0.01 g/100 ml of human milk oligosaccharide, preferably from 0.01 to 1.5 g per 100 ml, and/or at least 0.038 wt.% based on the dry weight of the composition, preferably from 0.038 wt.% to 12 wt.% based on the dry weight of the composition, and/or 0.015 g per 100 kcal, preferably from 0.015 to 2.5 g per 100 kcal.

The nutritional composition according to any one of claims 3 to 13, wherein the amount of galactooligosaccharide containing beta-1,4-linkages with a DP of at least 4 is at least 0.05 mg/100 ml, and/or 0.35 wt.% based on the dry weight of the composition, and/or preferably at least 0.07 g per 100 kcal.

A nutritional composition according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the indigestible oligosaccharides are present in an amount of at least 1.5 wt.%, preferably from 1.5 wt.% to 15 wt.%, based on the dry weight of the composition, and/or at least 0.2 g per 100 ml, preferably from 0.2 g to 2 g per 100 ml, and/or 0.3 g per 100 kcal, preferably from 0.3 g to 3 g per 100 kcal.

A nutritional composition according to any of the preceding claims, which comprises at least 10 5 CFU of B. longum ssp infantis capable of expressing urease per gram of dry weight of the nutritional composition, and at least 10 5 CFU of B. bifidum capable of expressing at least one extracellular enzyme selected from fucosidase and sialidase, and incapable of expressing urease, and optionally at least 10 5 CFU of B. breve capable of expressing beta-1,4-endogalactanase per gram of dry weight of the nutritional composition, and wherein the total number of bifidobacteria is at least 10 6 CFU per gram of dry weight of the nutritional composition.
  17. 17. A nutritional composition according to any of the preceding claims for use in increasing the level and/or metabolic activity of intestinal bifidobacteria, preferably in a child, preferably in a child in the first six months of life.
  18. 18. A nutritional composition according to any one of claims 1-16 for use in the prevention and/or treatment of intestinal microbial dysbiosis and/or for use in reducing the number of intestinal pathogenic bacteria, preferably in a child, preferably in a child in the first six months of life.
  19. 19. A nutritional composition for use according to claim 18, which is intended for a human subject suffering from or at risk of developing intestinal microbial dysbiosis, preferably selected from the group consisting of a subject who was born prematurely, a subject who was born by caesarean section, a subject who is receiving or has received antibiotic treatment, and a subject who is or has been at least partially breastfed by a woman taking antibiotics.
  20. 20. A nutritional composition according to any one of claims 1-16 for use in the prevention and/or treatment of a disorder associated with an impaired intestinal microbiota in children in the first half of life or young children.
