Claims (20)

  1. 1. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound, comprising a dehydration reaction for dehydrating an aromatic amide compound, wherein
  2. the dehydration reaction includes a contact step in which the aromatic amide compound and the diluent are brought into contact with the catalyst in the gas phase, and
  3. the temperature at which the aromatic amide compound and the diluent are brought into contact with the catalyst in the contact step is 300°C or higher.
  4. 2. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 1, characterized in that the diluent contains at least a solvent or an inert gas.
  5. 3. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 2, characterized in that said solvent contains at least an aromatic compound.
  6. 4. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to paragraph 3, characterized in that the aromatic compound is represented by the following formula (1)

  8. wherein each R 1 is independently selected from an optionally substituted C1-C10 alkyl group, an optionally substituted C1-C10 alkoxy group, an optionally substituted C6-C30 aryl group and an optionally substituted C6-C30 aryloxy group, and
  9. a is an integer from 1 to 6.
  10. 5. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 3, characterized in that the aromatic compound has one or two aromatic rings and one or more groups selected from an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, and an aryloxy group.
  11. 6. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 3, characterized in that said aromatic compound has a self-ignition temperature of 300°C or higher.
  12. 7. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 3, characterized in that the aromatic compound includes at least one of 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene, p-cymene, phenyl ether, and anisole.
  13. 8. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 1, characterized in that the pressure of the reaction system at the contact stage is 101.3 kPa or less.
  14. 9. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 1, characterized in that the aromatic amide compound includes at least a heteroaryl amide compound, and the aromatic nitrile compound includes at least a heteroaryl nitrile compound.
  15. 10. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 9, characterized in that the heteroarylamide compound comprises 2-picolinamide, and the heteroarylnitrile compound comprises 2-cyanopyridine.
  16. 11. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 1, characterized in that an inert gas in a vaporous state is used at the contact stage.
  17. 12. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 11, characterized in that the inert gas contains at least gaseous nitrogen.
  18. 13. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 1, characterized in that the catalyst contains an alkali metal.
  19. 14. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 1, characterized in that the solvent is compatible with the aromatic amide compound.
  20. 15. A method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound according to claim 1, characterized in that the contact time of the aromatic amide compound with the catalyst in the gas phase is 0.001 s or more, but less than 10 s.
