Claims (20)
- 1. A brake particle collection system (20) for collecting brake particles emitted by a disc brake (2), comprising
- means (22, 24, 26) for sucking particles, capable of adopting a first state in which the means (22, 24, 26) for sucking create a first level (p1) of sucking, and a second state in which the means for sucking create a second level (p2) of sucking, exceeding the first level (p1) of sucking; and
- a control unit (30) regulating the state of the suction means (22, 24, 26), characterized in that the control unit (30) is configured to switch the suction means (22, 24, 26) from the first state to the second state when the signal (34) of the rotation speed of the disc (4) of the brake (2), received by the control unit (30), shows that the disc (4), which is in the acceleration phase, has a rotation speed exceeding the first threshold rotation speed (W1).
- 2. The collection system (20) according to claim 1, in which the first level (p1) of suction corresponds to the absence of suction.
- 3. The collection system (20) according to one of the previous claims, in which the control unit (30) is configured to maintain the suction means (22, 24, 26) in the second state after switching to the second state, for a time (Dt) from 5 to 30 s, preferably from 10 to 15 s, and then, after this time (Dt) has elapsed, switch the suction means (22, 24, 26) back to the first state.
- 4. The collection system (20) according to any of the preceding claims, in which the control unit (30) is configured to switch the suction means (22, 24, 26) from the second state to the first state if the following two conditions are met:
- the signal (34) of the rotation speed of the disk (4), received by the control unit (30), indicates that the rotation speed of the disk (4), which is in the deceleration phase, falls below the second threshold rotation speed (W2), which is possibly equal to the first threshold rotation speed (W1); and
- brake (2) is disengaged,
- in this case, the switching of the suction means (22, 24, 26) from the second state to the first state potentially occurs after a delay of 10-15 s, during which these two conditions remain fulfilled.
- 5. A collection system according to any of the preceding claims, in which the control unit (30) is configured to maintain the suction means (22, 24, 26) in the second state from the moment when the signal (34) of the rotation speed of the disk (2) indicates that the disk (4) is rotating at a speed exceeding the third threshold rotation speed (W3), preferably equal to the first and/or second threshold rotation speed (W1, W2).
- 6. A road or rail vehicle (1) containing
- disc brake (2);
- a brake particle collection system (20) for collecting brake particles emitted by the disc brake (2); and
- vehicle speed monitoring devices,
- wherein the collection system (20) contains:
- means (22, 24, 26) for sucking particles that are capable of adopting a first state in which the means (22, 24, 26) for sucking create a first level (p1) of sucking, and a second state in which the means for sucking create a second level (p2) of sucking that exceeds the first level (p1) of sucking; and
- a control unit (30) regulating the state of the suction means (22, 24, 26), characterized in that the control unit (30) is configured to switch the suction means (22, 24, 26) from a first state to a second state when the speed signal produced by the speed monitoring means and received by the control unit (30) shows that the vehicle (1), which is in the acceleration phase, has exceeded a speed that is from 40 to 60 km/h.
- 7. A method (1000) for calibrating a particle collection system according to any one of claims 1-5 or a vehicle according to claim 6, comprising, in the specified order, the operations of
- prepare (100) a disc brake (2) containing a disc (4), a caliper (8) and a pair of linings (10, 12);
- set (200) the disk (4) into rotation;
