Claims (20)
- 1. A feed additive composition containing a microorganism in combination with mannanase.
- 2. The composition of the feed additive according to claim 1, wherein the microorganism comprises a bacterium of the genus Bacillus.
- 3. The feed additive composition according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the microorganism comprises a bacterium from Bacillus subtilis.
- 4. A feed additive composition according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the direct microorganism is Bacillus subtilis QST713.
- 5. A feed additive composition according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the mannanase is β-mannanase.
- 6. A feed additive composition according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the mannanase is present in a dosage of from 50 EA/g of the feed additive composition to 20,000 EA/g of the feed additive composition.
- 7. The feed additive composition according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the microorganism is present at a dosage of 3.75×10 7 CFU/g of the feed additive composition and 1×10 11 CFU/g of the feed additive composition.
- 8. A method for improving the performance and condition of a subject, or improving the digestibility of feedstock, or improving the feed conversion ratio (FCR), or improving body weight gain in a subject, or increasing feed efficiency in a subject, or improving the immune response in a subject, or promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract of a subject, or reducing the populations of pathogenic bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract of a subject, or reducing the excretion of nutrients in feces, comprising administering to the subject a microorganism in combination with mannanase.
- 9. The method according to claim 8, comprising introducing a feed additive composition according to any one of claims 1-7.
- 10. Use of a microorganism in combination with mannanase to improve the performance and condition of a subject, or to improve the digestibility of feedstock, or to improve the feed conversion ratio (FCR), or to improve body weight gain in a subject, or to increase feed efficiency in a subject, or to improve the immune response in a subject, or to stimulate the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract of a subject, or to reduce the populations of pathogenic bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract of a subject, or to reduce the excretion of nutrients in the feces.
- 11. Use according to paragraph 10, wherein the feed additive composition according to any of paragraphs 1-7 is used.
- 12. A kit containing the microorganism, mannanase and instructions for administration.
- 13. The kit according to claim 12, containing a feed additive composition according to any one of claims 1-7.
- 14. A method for producing a feed additive composition comprising mixing a microorganism with mannanase and optionally packaging.
- 15. The method according to claim 14, wherein the microorganism comprises a bacterium of the genus Bacillus.
- 16. The method according to claim 14 or 15, wherein the microorganism comprises a bacterium from Bacillus subtilis.
- 17. The method according to any one of claims 14-16, wherein the microorganism is Bacillus subtilis QST713.
- 18. The method according to any one of claims 14-17, wherein the mannanase is β-mannanase.
- 19. Feed containing a feed additive composition according to any one of paragraphs 1-7.
- 20. The feed according to claim 19, wherein the mannanase is present in a dosage of from 100 activity units (FTU)/kg feed to 2000 activity units (FTU)/kg feed.
