Claims (18)
- 1. A device for cutting rod-shaped elements of an aerosol-generating product, comprising
- a shaft extending along the longitudinal axis of the device, wherein the shaft is configured to rotate around said longitudinal axis;
- at least four disks, each of the disks comprising a central opening for a shaft, the shaft passing through the central openings for the shaft of the disks, the disks being arranged to move between different axial positions along the shaft, the outer periphery of each of the disks comprising support grooves for rod-shaped elements;
- at least one circular knife blade adapted to be inserted into a groove formed between two disks, wherein the circular knife blade is arranged to move between different axial positions parallel to the shaft, wherein the circular knife blade is adapted to cut rod-shaped elements.
- 2. The device according to claim 1, in which each second groove formed between the two disks is designed with the possibility of inserting a round knife blade.
- 3. The device according to item 2, in which each other groove is made in the form of a groove without a knife.
- 4. The device according to claim 2 or 3, in which the groove configured to receive the round knife blade has a smaller width than the groove without the round knife blade.
- 5. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the shaft also comprises a tongue extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the shaft, each of the disks comprising a groove, and the disks are mounted on the tongue to prevent relative rotation between the shaft and the disks.
- 6. The device according to item 5, in which the tongue is made integral with the shaft.
- 7. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising 2n disks for providing n cut rod-shaped elements from one rod, wherein n is an integer equal to at least 2.
- 8. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising n-1 circular knife blades and 2n disks, wherein n is an integer equal to at least 2.
- 9. A device according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the support grooves of the discs correspond to the diameter of the rod-shaped element.
- 10. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein each of the disks comprises fastening means, wherein the fastening means comprises a projecting portion adapted to be secured by screws to one or both of the shaft and the tongue.
- 11. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein each of the disks comprises fastening means, wherein the fastening means comprises at least one of a pin, a split pin, a split pin, a spring pin, and wherein one or both of the shaft and the tongue comprise matching holes configured to allow a predetermined arrangement of the disks by means of said fastening means.
- 12. A device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein each of the disks comprises fastening means, and each of the fastening means comprises a switch button comprising a pin and a press-release button.
- 13. A device according to any of the preceding claims, also comprising a receiving drum containing adjustable support grooves adapted to receive the cut rod-shaped elements.
- 14. A method for adjusting the cutting length of a device according to any of the preceding paragraphs, comprising the steps of: moving the disks in the axial direction between a first position of the disk and a second position of the disk, moving the circular blade of the knife in the axial direction between a first position of the blade and a second position of the blade.
- 15. The method of claim 14, comprising moving at least two circular knife blades between a first blade position and a second blade position such that the distance between the circular knife blades changes between the first blade position and the second blade position.
