Claims (19)
- 1. A mouthpiece for an aerosol generating device comprising
- a proximal end containing an air outlet;
- an internal air flow channel of the mouthpiece, passing between the distal end of the mouthpiece and the air outlet;
- a dilution air inlet duct in fluid communication with the internal air flow duct; and
- an adjustment mechanism capable of being set to different positions, said different positions corresponding to different degrees of opening of the inlet duct for dilution air;
- wherein the adjustment mechanism comprises a mixing segment of the mouthpiece, wherein the mixing segment comprises a hollow tubular element comprising a lateral side wall surrounding an internal air flow channel, wherein the inlet channel for the dilution air comprises at least one passage channel passing through the lateral side wall of the mixing segment, and wherein said at least one passage channel is designed as a straight channel directed tangentially to the internal air flow channel.
- 2. A mouthpiece according to claim 1, characterized in that said different positions correspond to different positions of the movable part of the mouthpiece relative to the fixed element when the mouthpiece is connected to the aerosol generating device.
- 3. The mouthpiece according to paragraph 2, characterized in that the said different positions correspond to different rotational positions of the movable part of the mouthpiece relative to the fixed element.
- 4. The mouthpiece according to claim 3, characterized in that the mouthpiece has a longitudinal central axis passing between the proximal end and the distal end, and wherein the movable part of the mouthpiece is designed with the possibility of rotation around the said longitudinal central axis.
- 5. The mouthpiece according to claim 4, characterized in that the movable part of the mouthpiece is designed with the possibility of being at least partially covered by the fixed element.
- 6. A mouthpiece according to claim 5, characterized in that the adjustment mechanism comprises an installation segment of the movable part of the mouthpiece, wherein the installation segment has, in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal central axis, a cross-section in the form of a circle with a recess, so that the recess can form part of the inlet channel for dilution air, when the movable part of the mouthpiece is covered by a tubular fixed element.
- 7. The mouthpiece according to claim 6, characterized in that the mounting segment is a horizontal cylindrical segment, and
- wherein the mixing segment comprises a reduced circumference in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal central axis, compared to the installation segment.
- 8. A mouthpiece according to any one of paragraphs 4-7, characterized in that said at least one passage channel is inclined at an angle of less than 90 degrees relative to the longitudinal central axis of the mouthpiece.
- 9. A mouthpiece according to any one of paragraphs 2-8, characterized in that the movable part of the mouthpiece contains a protruding element designed with the possibility of engaging with a slotted element of a fixed element, so that the relative movement of the movable part of the mouthpiece relative to the fixed element is limited by the engagement of the protruding element and the slotted element.
- 10. A mouthpiece according to any one of paragraphs 2-9, characterized in that the fixed element contains from 2 to 50 air inlets of the inlet channel for dilution air, and wherein the air inlets of the inlet channel for dilution air are located circumferentially around the fixed element.
- 11. A mouthpiece according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said different positions include at least an open position of the inlet channel for dilution air and a partially open position of the inlet channel for dilution air.
- 12. An aerosol generating device comprising a mouthpiece according to any of the preceding claims.
- 13. An aerosol generating system comprising an aerosol generating device according to claim 12 and an aerosol forming substrate.
