Claims (20)

  1. 1. An aerosol generating article comprising:
  2. a substrate portion containing an aerosol-forming substrate,
  3. filter element,
  4. wherein the filter element comprises a cellulose filter material, wherein the filter element comprises a filter wrapper wrapped around the cellulose filter material, wherein the filter wrapper has a grammage of from 50 g/ m2 to 120 g/ m2 , and wherein the filter wrapper comprises a fluid-impermeable coating that contains fluorinated coatings.
  5. 2. An aerosol-generating article according to claim 1, characterized in that the cellulose filter material does not contain acetyl cellulose.
  6. 3. An aerosol generating article according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cellulose filter material comprises a paper material, preferably wherein the cellulose filter material comprises a non-woven paper material.
  7. 4. An aerosol generating article according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the filter wrapper has a grammage of from 60 g/ m2 to 110 g/ m2 , preferably wherein the filter wrapper has a grammage of from 70 g/ m2 to 100 g/ m2 .
  8. 5. An aerosol generating article according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cellulose filter material contains an additive.
  9. 6. An aerosol-generating article according to claim 5, characterized in that the additive is a phenol absorbent.
  10. 7. An aerosol generating article according to claim 5 or 6, characterized in that the additive contains polyethylene glycol, preferably from 1 wt.% to 5 wt.%, preferably from 2 wt.% to 4 wt.%, more preferably 3 wt.% polyethylene glycol.

An aerosol generating article according to any one of claims 5 to 7, characterized in that the cellulose filter material contains as an additive from 1 wt.% to 5 wt.%, preferably from 2 wt.% to 4 wt.%, more preferably 3 wt.% of low molecular weight polyethylene glycol, preferably characterized by an average molecular weight M w of from 300 to 500, more preferably from 350 to 450, most preferably 400.
  12. 9. An aerosol generating article according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the fluid-impermeable coating is provided on only one side of the filter wrapper.
  13. 10. An aerosol generating article according to claim 9, wherein a fluid-impermeable coating is provided on the side of the filter wrapper that faces the cellulose filter material.
  14. 11. An aerosol generating article according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the fluid-impermeable coating comprises cellulose derivatives, preferably one or more of ethyl cellulose, microfibrillated cellulose and carboxymethyl cellulose.
  15. 12. An aerosol generating article according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the fluid-impermeable coating comprises one or more of: acrylate, styrene, butadiene, starch, starch derivative, cellulose derivative, alginate, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl acetate, polyfluoroalkyl, gelatin, biowax and resin.
  16. 13. An aerosol-generating article according to any of the preceding paragraphs, characterized in that the fluid-impermeable coating is in the form of a hardness-increasing coating.
  17. 14. A method for forming a filter element for an aerosol-generating article, comprising:
  18. provision of cellulose filter material,
  19. provision of a filter wrapper, wherein the filter wrapper has a grammage from 50 g/ m2 to 120 g/ m2 ,
  20. coating the filter wrapper with a fluid-impermeable coating, wherein the fluid-impermeable coating comprises fluorinated coatings, and
