Claims (15)

1. 1. A firewall reinforcing frame (1) adapted to be installed inside a firewall assembly (3) separating a passenger compartment (21) from a front compartment (22) of a motor vehicle (2), wherein said firewall reinforcing frame (1) is also adapted to be installed in a region in which a heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit (4) is inserted into said firewall assembly (3) through an opening (5) for the HVAC unit, wherein said firewall reinforcing frame (1) comprises upper and lower transverse sections (11, 12), each of which extends in a substantially transverse direction, connected by lateral sections (13, 14) on the steering and passenger sides, each of which extends in a substantially horizontal direction, wherein said four sections (11, 12, 13, 14) together define an inner periphery (15), which is intended to delimit the periphery said opening (5) for the HVAC unit, and said reinforcing frame (1) of the engine shield is made by molding a solid steel sheet.
2. 2. A reinforcing frame (1) of the engine shield according to item 1, manufactured by hot stamping from a solid steel sheet.
3. 3. A reinforcing frame (1) of the engine shield according to item 1, manufactured by cold stamping from a solid steel sheet.
4. 4. A reinforcing frame (1) of the engine shield according to any one of paragraphs 1-3, in which the said steel sheet is a welded composite blank.
5. 5. A reinforcing frame (1) for a firewall according to any one of paragraphs 1-3, in which said steel sheet is a rolled composite blank.
6. 6. A reinforcing frame (1) for a firewall according to any one of paragraphs 1-5, in which said steel sheet is a blank reinforced with a lining.
7. 7. A reinforcing frame (1) of the engine shield according to any one of paragraphs 1-6, in which the product of the tensile strength by the average thickness of said lower cross section (12) exceeds by 1.2-1.4 times the product of the tensile strength by the average thickness of said side section (13) on the steering side.
8. 8. A reinforcing frame (1) for a firewall according to any one of claims 1 to 7, in which said side section (13) on the steering side also has a steering column opening adjacent to the steering column opening (6) in the firewall, through which the steering column of said vehicle is inserted.

A reinforcing frame (1) of the firewall according to any one of paragraphs 1-8, in which said upper cross section (11) extends across the entire width of said passenger compartment (21) and is connected on its lateral sides to the right and left front pillars (7, 7’) of said motor vehicle (2).

A reinforcing frame (1) of the engine shield according to any one of paragraphs. 1-9, in which said lower transverse section (12) extends across the entire width of said passenger compartment (21) and is connected on its lateral sides to the right and left front pillars (7, 7’) of said motor vehicle (2).

A reinforcing frame (1) of the firewall according to claim 9 or 10, in which said upper and lower cross sections (11, 12) extend across the entire width of said passenger compartment (21) and are connected on their lateral sides to the right and left front pillars (7, 7’) of said motor vehicle (2).
12. 12. An engine shield unit (3) separating the passenger compartment (21) from the front compartment (22) of a motor vehicle (2) and comprising a reinforcing frame (1) of the engine shield according to any one of paragraphs 1-8.
13. 13. An engine shield assembly (3) separating the passenger compartment (21) from the front compartment (22) of a motor vehicle (2), acting as an element preventing the penetration of components in the event of an impact of said motor vehicle (2), and comprising a reinforcing frame (1) of the engine shield according to any one of paragraphs 9-11.
14. 14. A motor vehicle (2) comprising a heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit (4) located between the passenger compartment (21) and the front compartment (22) and inserted through said opening (5) for the HVAC unit into the engine shield assembly (3) comprising a reinforcing frame (1) of the engine shield according to any one of paragraphs 1-13.
15. 15. A motor vehicle (2) according to claim 14, wherein said heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit (4) is attached to said reinforcing frame (1) of the firewall either directly or indirectly through intermediate fasteners.
