Claims (20)
- 1. A wearable electronic device (200) comprising:
- a housing (210) comprising an outer housing section (211) and an inner housing section (213) connected to the outer housing section (211) and made at least partially transparent;
- a light emitter (250) located in a housing (210) and configured to emit light through an internal section (213) of the housing;
- a first sensor (261) located in the housing (210) and configured to receive light passing through the user's finger;
- a second sensor (263) located in the housing (210) and configured to receive light reflected by the user's finger;
- at least one processor (220) including processing circuitry; and
- a memory device (230) storing instructions, wherein the instructions, when executed separately or jointly by at least one processor (220), instruct the wearable electronic device (200):
- control the light emitter (250) to emit the first light;
- receive through the first sensor (261) a first signal corresponding to the first light;
- control the light emitter (250) to emit a second light;
- receive through the second sensor (263) a second signal corresponding to the second light; and
- generate biometric information based on the first signal or the second signal.
- 2. The wearable electronic device of claim 1, wherein at least one piece of biometric information includes information regarding oxygen saturation or information regarding heart rate.
- 3. A wearable electronic device according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the light emitter (250) is configured to emit light of multiple wavelength ranges, including a red wavelength and an infrared wavelength.
- 4. A wearable electronic device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the distance between the first sensor (261) and the light emitter (250) is greater than the distance between the second sensor (263) and the light emitter (250).
- 5. A wearable electronic device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the instructions, when executed separately or jointly by at least one processor (220), instruct the wearable electronic device (200):
- control the light emitter (250) to emit a second light having a first intensity; and
- control the light emitter (250) to emit a first light having a second intensity different from the first intensity after the second light is emitted.
- 6. A wearable electronic device according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the first intensity is less than the second intensity.
- 7. The wearable electronic device of any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the instructions, when executed individually or jointly by at least one processor (220), cause the wearable electronic device (200): at least in part based on identifying that the difference between the first signal and the second signal is less than or equal to a threshold value, to generate biometric information using the second signal.
