Description
[Field of TECHNOLOGY] [1] The present invention relates to plant growth regulators for increasing seed yield, to their use for increasing the mass of the above-ground part or underground part of a plant, to a method for stimulating plant growth and to a method for producing a plant growth regulator. [State of the art] [2] There is a need for an agent that has a stimulating effect on plant growth and is applicable to a wide range of plants. Ergothioneine, for example, is known as such an agent. [3] Patent Document 1 describes a fertilizer containing ergothioneine or a culture product of microorganisms that can biosynthesize ergothioneine. [4] Patent documents 2 and 3 describe the use of 2-mercaptohistidine betaine, which is ergothioneine, to a plant. It is described that this application can control stress and stress-related conditions in plants, and can also promote plant growth. [5] Patent Document 4 describes the use of the simple substance ergothioneine on plants. It is also described that said use stimulates plant growth or increases crop yield. [6] Patent document 5 describes the use of a microorganism extract containing ergothioneine as an antioxidant necessary for the absorption of methanol as a fertilizer. It is described that this use increases nitrogenase activity.
