Abstract
FIELD: communication. SUBSTANCE: start time of the DRX inactivity timer is determined according to the PDSCH, PUSCH or PDCCH transmission time information and a first time interval, and the DRX inactivity timer is started at said start time. By means of the method, the start time of the DRX inactivity timer and the start time for monitoring PDCCH overlap as much as possible, so that it is ensured that the Internet of Things terminal device can reliably monitor the PDCCH, which increases the reliability of the Internet of Things communication system. EFFECT: increasing the reliability of the Internet of Things communication system. 9 cl, 10 dwg

Description
CROSS-REFERENCE TO A RELATED APPLICATION [0001] This application is based on and claims priority from international application PCT/CN 2022/129357, filed on November 2, 2022, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. TECHNICAL AREA [0002] The present disclosure relates to the field of communication technologies and, in particular, relates to a method and device for starting a timer. LEVEL OF TECHNOLOGY [0003] Currently, the relevant communication protocol specifies that either only one hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process or more than one HARQ process may be configured for an Internet of Things (IoT) terminal. For the case where only one HARQ process is configured, the protocol specifies that the discontinuous reception (DRX) inactivity timer is started in the subframe where the last repetition of the physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) or physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission is located. For the case where more than one HARQ process is configured, if a new transmission indicated by the physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) is received, the DRX inactivity timer will also be started immediately. [0004] However, for the narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) terminal, the protocol also stipulates that the NB-IoT terminal does not monitor the narrowband PDCCH for 12 milliseconds (ms) after finishing receiving the narrowband PDSCH, i.e., does not start the DRX inactivity timer. This contradicts the start time of the DRX inactivity timer in the above-mentioned protocol provision. ESSENCE OF THE INVENTION [0005] Embodiments of the invention provide a method and apparatus for starting a timer. [0006] Embodiments of the first aspect of the invention provide a method for starting a timer performed by an IoT terminal and including: determining a starting moment of a discontinuous transmission inactivity (DRX) timer in accordance with a first time interval and information about the transmission time of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH); and starting the DRX inactivity timer at said starting moment. [0007] In the present disclosure, the IoT terminal determines the starting point of the DRX inactivity timer according to the transmission time information of the PDSCH, PUSCH, or PDCCH and the first time interval, and then starts the DRX inactivity timer at said starting point of the DRX inactivity timer. Thus, by configuring the starting point of the DRX inactivity timer so that it overlaps as much as possible with the starting point of the PDCCH monitoring, it is ensured that the IoT terminal can reliably monitor the PDCCH, which improves the reliability of the IoT communication system. [0008] Embodiments of the second aspect of the invention provide a method for starting a timer, performed by a network device and including: determining the starting time of a discontinuous transmission inactivity (DRX) timer in an IoT terminal in accordance with a first time interval and transmission timing information of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), or a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). [0009] Embodiments of a third aspect of the invention provide a communication device that includes a processing module configured to determine a starting point of a discontinuous transmission inactivity (DRX) timer in accordance with a first time interval and transmission timing information of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), wherein the processing module is further configured to start the DRX inactivity timer at said starting point. [0010] Embodiments of the fourth aspect of the invention provide a communication device that includes a processing module configured to determine the start time of a discontinuous transmission inactivity timer (DPvX) in an IoT terminal in accordance with a first time interval and transmission timing information of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), or a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). [0011] Embodiments of the fifth aspect of the invention provide a communication device that includes a processor and a memory in which a computer program is stored. The processor executes the computer program stored in the memory, so that the communication device executes the method for starting a timer described above in the embodiments of the first aspect. [0012] Embodiments of the sixth aspect of the invention provide a communication device that includes a processor and a memory in which a computer program is stored. The processor executes the computer program stored in the memory, so that the communication device executes the method for starting a timer described above in the embodiments of the second aspect. [0013] Embodiments of the seventh aspect of the invent
