Claims (1)
- A liquid composition for preparing a surface made of recycled polyvinyl chloride for printing, consisting of a mixture of solvents containing the following ratio of components, wt. %: 1.2 Dichloroethane 5-10, Acetone 70-80, Isopropanol 10-25.
Description
The invention relates to the creation of a liquid composition used to prepare recycled polyvinyl chloride for printing. The proposed liquid cleaning composition comprises a solvent mixture containing the following component ratios (by weight): 1.2% Dichloroethane 5-10%, Acetone 70-80%, Isopropanol 10-25%. The claimed liquid composition is relatively inexpensive, has a flash point higher than the washout temperature, and contains no surfactants. A well-known and widely used product from Weiss, Cosmofen 10 or COSMO CL-300.110, is a mixture of ketones and acetates used for dust removal and degreasing of various plastic surfaces. This product is intended for use on virgin materials and is not suitable for preparing recycled surfaces. Polyprint Precoating primer is a well-known product, a water-based emulsion applied to the surface of the material before printing, forming a film on the surface. These compounds are primarily used for printing on woven fabrics; the mere presence of the film on the surface of recycled material leads to subsequent shedding of the film along with the ink layer after the image is applied. Mimaki PR-100 SPC-0732 primer is suitable for many types of plastic, but it is expensive and comes in cartridges compatible only with Mimaki equipment, significantly limiting its application. Its properties also limit its effectiveness on recycled PVC. PALICHEM PA 7218 primer from Palina Coatings has a relatively competitive price, but is used for processing glass and ceramics, as well as some metal surfaces. Uvijet Fusion Adhesion Promoter ZE680 is a solvent-based primer that can cause dissolution and clouding of PVC, even if it is not recycled . The above mentioned compositions do not solve the problem of printing on recycled material, and are also expensive and have technical disadvantages. Acetone and isopropanol are widely known and used in the printing industry to prepare printing surfaces in various combinations. Initial experiments were conducted with acetone and liquids of similar density, but they were ineffective. Only the addition of the denser 1,2-dichloroethane in a small proportion achieved the desired effect. The use of chemically pure dichloroethane made it possible to avoid impurities from its lower grades, which allowed the use of technical acetone and technical isopropyl alcohol. The liquids are mixed in an ultrasonic bath. This is necessary to obtain a higher-quality mixture, as simple mechanical mixing, even with liquids of different densities, causes the heavier dichloroethane to precipitate, preventing the desired effect. Conversely, a higher concentration of dichloroethane leads to PVC dissolution, making printing even more difficult. The substances included in the solvent mixture of the liquid cleaning composition comply with the following regulatory documents: 1.2 Dichloroethane chemical grade: TU 2631-085-44493179-02; Technical acetone: GOST 2768-84; Technical isopropanol: GOST 9805-84. The proposed liquid composition belongs to a class of printing primers designed for automated (or manual) surface preparation before applying images, improving print quality. This primer is specifically designed for recycled polyvinyl chloride.
