US-20260127261-A1 - CLIENT DEVICE FOR USE WITH PLAYER TOKEN NFTS AND METHODS FOR USE THEREWITH
Abstract
A client device operates by: reading, via the client device, an optical code associated with a player token; sending, via the client device and in response to reading the optical code, a request to download a player token NFT associated with the player token from an NFT distribution platform implemented as a decentralized computer system having a plurality of different nodes, the player token NFT stored on a blockchain via the plurality of different nodes of the decentralized computer system; receiving from the blockchain of the NFT distribution platform, via the client device, the player token NFT associated with the player token responsive to geographically distinct blockchain calculations performed contemporaneously over the plurality of different nodes of a decentralized computer system; and storing the player token NFT in a wallet associated with the user.

Claims (20)
- 1 . A method for use with a client device that includes a processor and a memory, that utilizes a graphical user interface to interact with a user and that implements a wallet configured to store non-fungible tokens (NFTs), the method comprising: reading, via the client device, an optical code associated with a player token; sending, via the client device and in response to reading the optical code, a request to download a player token NFT associated with the player token from an NFT distribution platform implemented as a decentralized computer system having a plurality of different nodes, the player token NFT stored on a blockchain via the plurality of different nodes of the decentralized computer system; receiving from the blockchain of the NFT distribution platform, via the client device, the player token NFT associated with the player token responsive to geographically distinct blockchain calculations performed contemporaneously over the plurality of different nodes of a decentralized computer system; and storing the player token NFT in a wallet associated with the user.
- 2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: determining when the client device has downloaded player token NFTs associated with each player token of a series of player tokens.
- 3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising: facilitating a game utilizing the series of player tokens, via the client device, when the client device has downloaded player token NFTs associated with each player token of the series of player tokens.
- 4 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising: facilitating a redemption transaction utilizing the series of player tokens, via the client device, when the client device has downloaded player token NFTs associated with each player token of the series of player tokens.
- 5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein facilitating the redemption transaction includes: generating a transaction request to redeem a series of player token NFTs, wherein the transaction request includes player token NFT identification data identifying the series of player token NFTs; and sending the transaction request to the NFT distribution platform.
- 6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the NFT distribution platform determines when the player token NFTs are authenticated, generates credentials data to grant the transaction request when the player token NFTs are authenticated and sends the credentials data to the client device.
- 7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the player token NFT identification data is retrieved from the wallet associated with the user.
- 8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the NFT distribution platform further determined when ownership of the series of player token NFTs is validated and only generates credentials data to grant the transaction request when the user's ownership of the series of player token NFTs is validated.
- 9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the NFT distribution platform mints the player token NFT responsive to the request to download.
- 10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the player token NFT is associated with a single player game.
- 11 . A client device comprises: a network interface configured to communicate via a network; at least one processor; a camera; a touch screen that generates a graphical user interface to interact with a user; a non-transitory machine-readable storage medium that stores operational instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations that include: providing a wallet associated with the user configured to store non-fungible tokens (NFTs); reading, via the camera, an optical code associated with a player token; sending, via the client device and in response to reading the optical code, a request to download a player token NFT associated with the player token from an NFT distribution platform implemented as a decentralized computer system having a plurality of different nodes, the player token NFT stored on a blockchain via the plurality of different nodes of the decentralized computer system; receiving from the blockchain of the NFT distribution platform, via the client device, the player token NFT associated with the player token responsive to geographically distinct blockchain calculations performed contemporaneously over the plurality of different nodes of a decentralized computer system; and storing the player token NFT in the wallet associated with the user.
- 12 . The client device of claim 11 , further comprising: determining when the client device has downloaded player token NFTs associated with each player token of a series of player tokens.
- 13 . The client device of claim 12 , further comprising: facilitating a game utilizing the series of player tokens, via the client device, when the client device has downloaded player token NFTs associated with each player token of the series of player tokens.
- 14 . The client device of claim 12 , further comprising: facilitating a redemption transaction utilizing the series of player tokens, via the client device, when the client device has downloaded player token NFTs associated with each player token of the series of player tokens.
- 15 . The client device of claim 14 , wherein facilitating the redemption transaction includes: generating a transaction request to redeem a series of player token NFTs, wherein the transaction request includes player token NFT identification data identifying the series of player token NFTs; and sending the transaction request to the NFT distribution platform.
- 16 . The client device of claim 15 , wherein the NFT distribution platform determines when the player token NFTs are authenticated, generates credentials data to grant the transaction request when the player token NFTs are authenticated and sends the credentials data to the client device.
- 17 . The client device of claim 16 , wherein the player token NFT identification data is retrieved from the wallet associated with the user.
- 18 . The client device of claim 17 , wherein the NFT distribution platform further determined when ownership of the series of player token NFTs is validated and only generates credentials data to grant the transaction request when the user's ownership of the series of player token NFTs is validated.
- 19 . The client device of claim 11 , wherein the NFT distribution platform mints the player token NFT responsive to the request to download.
- 20 . The client device of claim 11 , wherein the player token NFT is associated with a single player game.
