US-20260127939-A1 - WAGERING APPARATUS, METHODS AND SYSTEMS
Abstract
A system, method, and non-transitory computer medium for processing a payment for a wager in connection with a wagering event. The system may receive, over a communications interface, a wager on a wagering event from a player via an input device. The system may monitor progress of the wagering event. The progress of the wagering event may include at least a current status. The system may determine that the wager is active and that the wagering event is in progress. The system may determine an amount of a cash out offer and that the player accepts the cash out offer at the determined amount. The system may transmit, over the communications interface, the amount of the cash out offer to the first input device.

- 1 . An interactive wagering system for legalized gambling to increase engagement with and retention of a plurality of wagering participants using the interactive wagering system, the system comprising: a database, an application program interface (API); and a system controller operatively coupled to a communications interface, the system controller further coupled via the communications interface to two or more input devices and a plurality of third-party systems, the system controller configured to: receive, via the communications interface, two or more wagers each wager including at least one bet on a wagering event, wherein the wagering event comprises an entire event, a partial event, a component of an event, multiple independent events occurring sequentially or concurrently, or a compilation or sequence of related events, wherein the entire event, the partial event, the component of an event, the multiple independent events occurring sequentially or concurrently, and the compilation or sequence of related events consists of a sporting event or racing event, from the two or more input devices located in a plurality of geographical areas, the two or more input devices comprising a plurality of different types of devices, each with a different user interface among user interfaces configured to receive user input corresponding to the two or more wagers, store, within the database, the two or more wagers and wager information, the wager information comprising two or more of a number of all active wagers on the wagering event, a total value of all the active wagers, individual values of the active wagers, a probability of success of each of the active wagers based on, at least, a progress of the wagering event, and potential profits and losses based on the probability of success of each of the active wagers, periodically receive, via the API, data from the plurality of third-party systems during the active progression of the wagering event, periodically recalculate and update, during the active progression of the wagering event, the wager information based on the received data, periodically evaluate, during the active progression of the wagering event, the updated wager information, determine that at least two wagers of the two or more wagers are entitled to an award based at least on the active progression of the wagering event and the wager information, generate two or more at least partial cash out offer options, during the active progression of the wagering event, for at least two wagering participants of the plurality of wagering participants associated with the two or more wagers prior to a conclusion of the wagering event for at least a portion of the award, the two or more at least partial cash out offer options are based on the periodic evaluation of the updated wager information, and transmit, via the communications interface, the two or more at least partial cash out offer options to a plurality of the at least two input devices associated with the plurality of wagering participants, thereby causing a change in the respective user interfaces of the at least two input devices, such that the two or more at least partial cash out offer options are presented to the at least two wagering participants of the plurality of wagering participants via the plurality of respective user interfaces, and wherein the two or more at least partial cash out offer options to perform an at least partial cash out action being generated and presented via the plurality of the user interfaces to the at least two wagering participants after an entitlement to receive the at least partial cash out offer option is determined, occurring during a time period from the initial two or more wagers until the conclusion of the wagering event and having a cash value that is periodically recalculated and updated based on the updated wager information.
Description
BACKGROUND There are a range of betting and lottery products in the market. For example, there are pure pool betting products, such as the Pick 6 horse racing product in the United States and the Scoop 6 racing product (among others) in the United Kingdom. There are also sports betting products such as soccer individual games and/or pool wagering products. Pick 6 and Scoop 6 provides a six leg jackpot type bet that may also include a bonus pool and consolation prizes. The product type is relatively successful and provides players with a chance to win a large sum by betting on six races on a given race day. Similar multiple leg pool wagering is allowed for other types of racing events and multiple sports events. In the United Kingdom, there also presently exists a free to play game offered by Skybet, the ‘Super 6’ whereby players are allowed to make just one set of soccer correct score selections to try to win a guaranteed payout. The Super 6 also has some similarities to the traditional soccer pools product but is different in that it is not predicting draws and only six selections are necessary. Many countries have similar pool products where players are asked to select winners in six or seven horse or dog races and can win a share of a large pool. In the United States, numerous states have lotteries where players select for example six numbers and purchase a lottery ticket for a specific drawing. There is also a “Mega Millions” game in which several states participate in a pooled jackpot. The correct selection of all six numbers allows the ticket bearer to claim all or a portion of the pooled jackpot, depending on the number of winning tickets. The traditional soccer pools products in the United Kingdom offer a large payout if the player can select a large number of matches that result in a draw-particularly a score draw. Within soccer betting, correct score betting is the second most popular market after the central Home/Draw/Away (“HID/A”) markets. A prominent United Kingdom based betting and gaming company recently reported that 84% of its retail (i.e. in betting shops) soccer bets were coupon based accumulators. Almost 90% of those are on four-fold and above. A four-fold is four selections, so 90% of the bets are on four selections and more. By comparison, in online betting, twice as many bets are singles as is the case in betting shops, and only 55% are four-fold and above. Within this market segment, there is a need for new products to generate and maintain consumer interest. SUMMARY In an exemplary embodiment, a system comprising a processor operatively coupled to a memory configured to store computer-readable instructions is disclosed. When executed by the processor, the computer-readable instructions may cause the processor to receive, by a trading engine module of a system controller, a wager on a multi-outcome event from an input device via a communications interface. The wager may be submitted by a participant via a user interface of the input device. The system controller may store the wager in a record within a database. The record may include wager information for one or more wagers associated with one or more participants. The system controller may continuously retrieve data in real time related to a progress of the multi-outcome event before the multi-outcome event has been completed. The system controller may recalculate the wager information in real time for each of the one or more participants based on the continually retrieved data. The system controller may continuously evaluate the recalculated wager information. The system controller may determine that the participant is eligible to win an award based on a potential outcome of the multi-outcome event. The system controller may generate a real time offer comprising at least a portion of the award. The system controller may transmit the real time offer to the input device for display on the user interface prior to conclusion of the multi-outcome event. The system controller may receive an acceptance of the real time offer via input to the user interface prior to conclusion of the multi outcome event. The trading engine module may initiate at least one of excluding the participant from further participation in the multi-outcome event if the real time offer is for an entirety of the wager and maintaining the participant for further participation in the multi-outcome event if the real time offer is for a portion of the wager. The trading engine module may transmit the at least the portion of the award to the participant, such that the user interface displays one or more of a confirmation that the real time offer has been accepted and a value of the at least the portion of the award. In another exemplary embodiment, a system for conducting wagering on a multi-outcome event among one or more participants in real time is disclosed. The system may include: a system controller comprising a trading engine module, a database, a plurality of in
