  1. 1 . A new and distinct cultivar of Lavandula plant named ‘ARKEZIE’ as herein illustrated and described.

Description

Botanical classification: Lavandula angustifolia. Variety denomination: ‘ARKEZIE’. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a new and distinct cultivar of Lavandula angustifolia and will be referred to hereafter by its cultivar name, ‘ARKEZIE’. ‘ARKEZIE’ is a new variety of English lavender plant suitable for landscape and container use. The new cultivar was discovered as a chance seedling by the Inventor in 2019 in the Inventor's garden in North Elmham, Norfolk, England. The parents are unknown, however the one parent plant is believed to be Lavandula ‘Ashdown Forest’ (not patented) based on the characteristics of the new cultivar and its proximity to the claimed plant in the garden of the discovery. Asexual propagation of the new cultivar was first accomplished by the inventor by softwood stem cuttings in 2019 in in North Elmham, Norfolk, England. Asexual propagation by softwood stem cuttings has determined that the characteristics of the new cultivar are stable and are reproduced true to type in successive generations. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The following traits have been repeatedly observed and represent the characteristics of the new cultivar. These attributes in combination distinguish ‘ARKEZIE’ as a unique cultivar of Lavandula. 1. ‘ARKEZIE’ exhibits a compact and dwarf plant habit.2. ‘ARKEZIE’ exhibits flower colors that change from white to blue-purple-pink.3. ‘ARKEZIE’ exhibits cold hardiness to 5° fahrenheit. A probable parent plant of ‘ARKEZIE’ differs from ‘ARKEZIE’ in having flowers that are pale lavender in color, a larger plant size, longer flower stems, less branching, and a less compact plant habit. ‘ARKEZIE’ can also be compared to the Lavandula angustifolia cultivars ‘Nana Alba’ (not patented) and ‘Kerbeepink’ (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 32,795). ‘Nana Alba’ is similar to ‘ARKEZIE’ in having a mound forming plant habit and light colored flowers. ‘Nana Alba’ differs from ‘ARKEZIE’ in having white color flowers, smaller flowers, and less branching. ‘Kerbeepink’ is similar to ‘ARKEZIE’ in having a compact and mounded plant habit. ‘Kerbeepink’ differs from ‘ARKEZIE’ in having flowers that are light pink in color, less branching, and longer and less compact foliage. STATEMENT REGARDING PRIOR DISCLOSURES BY THE INVENTOR The Applicant asserts that no publications or advertisements relating to sales, offers for sale, or public distribution occurred more than one year prior to the effective filing date of this application. Any information about the claimed plant would have been obtained from a direct or indirect disclosure from the Inventor. The Applicant claims a prior art exemption under 35 U.S.C. 102(b)(1) for disclosures and/or sales that fall within a one-year grace period to the filing date. Disclosures include website listings by Genesis Plant Marketing (the breeders representative), Stewarts Garden Centre, Sturmer Nurseries Garden Centre (facebook), and Coolings. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The accompanying color photographs illustrate the overall appearance of the distinct characteristics of an 18-month-old plant of the new cultivar as grown outdoors in a 19-cm container in Boskoop, The Netherlands. The photograph in FIG. 1 illustrates a side view of ‘ARKEZIE’ in bloom. The photograph in FIG. 2. provides a close up view of an inflorescence of ‘ARKEZIE’. The photograph in FIG. 3. provides a close up view of the foliage of ‘ARKEZIE’. The colors in the photographs are as close as possible with the digital photography techniques utilized and the color values cited in the detailed botanical description accurately describe the colors of the new Lavandula. DETAILED BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION The following is a detailed description of 18-month-old plants of the new cultivar as grown outdoors in 19-cm containers in Boskoop, The Netherlands. The phenotype of the new cultivar may vary with variations in environmental, climatic, and cultural conditions, as it has not been tested under all possible environmental conditions. The color determination is in accordance with The 2015 Colour Chart of The Royal Horticultural Society, London, England, except where general color terms of ordinary dictionary significance are used.
