Aspects include preparing the magic state on a first set of physical qubits, initializing a second set of the physical qubits to X = +1 state, and initializing a third set of the physical qubits to Y = +1 state. Aspects include initializing a fourth set of the physical qubits to Z = +1 state and measuring stabilizers of the code, thereby resulting in the magic state being injected into the code.
