Description

24-0936 1 Cutting tool The present disclosure relates to a cutting device for cartridges. The disclosure relates equally to a cutting device for cartridges and/or a method for reproducibly adjusting the outlet size of cartridges. Many production processes involve several steps where highly viscous materials, such as adhesives or fillers, need to be applied. These often need to be mixed first. Static mixers are typically used for this purpose. The cartridges and mixing mechanism of a static mixer can be purchased separately and assembled on-site. To make the cartridges suitable for various applications and materials, the outlet is designed to be conical or stepped. The outlet is cut at different steps or positions of a cone to achieve different outlet sizes. This is usually done with a knife or scissors. When cutting with a knife or scissors, the outlet is compressed, which can lead to an oval deformation. Furthermore, the reproducibility of the outlet geometry is not guaranteed. This is particularly problematic when the cartridge is mounted in a system and the material being processed moves in two directions beneath the cartridge. This can result in varying material thicknesses when applying the material in these two directions. Uneven material thicknesses due to inaccurate cartridge outlets lead to rejects. EP1172154A2 describes a mixer for two-component attachment elements which has a cuff whose inner surface can be plugged into the outer bottle of the cartridge's nozzle in a sealing manner, so that the outlets can be exchanged and manufactured specifically for the application. In light of this prior art, one objective of the present disclosure is to provide a device and a method that provides cartridges with consistently shaped outlets. In particular, the objective of the disclosure is to provide a device and a method for reproducibly cutting cartridge outlets. The problem is solved by the features of the independent claims. The dependent claims contain further developments of the disclosure. 24-0936 2 According to one aspect of the disclosure, the problem is solved by a cutting device (1) for cartridge outlets with a housing (6), wherein the housing (6) has a cutting edge (2) on one side of the housing (6) and a passage (5) on the other side for inserting an outlet of a cartridge, and wherein the cutting edge (2) is arranged on a radial plane (3) perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (4) of the housing (6) and a stop (7) is axially spaced from the cutting edge (2) on the inside of the housing (6). Likewise, according to one aspect of the disclosure, the problem is solved by a method in which a cartridge with its outlet is pushed into a cutting device until a stop (7) is reached. Then the cutting device (1) or the cartridge is rotated, or the cartridge and cutting device (1) are simultaneously rotated in opposite directions to each other. According to one aspect of the disclosure, the housing (6) is cylindrical. The cylindrical or slightly conical shape advantageously allows for the guidance of the cartridge outlet and thus ensures a straight cut. According to one aspect of the disclosure, the stop (7) is a radially inwardly projecting projection. In general, cartridge outlets are conical, at least in the immediate vicinity of the tip. A stop of a cutting device according to the invention can therefore also be designed with a correspondingly adapted conical area. However, cartridge outlets can also have a stepped area near the tip. This allows the user to cut the tip at different steps. In the cutting device (1), a stop (7) can be adapted to the steps of a cartridge. The stop (7) of a cutting device guarantees cutting at the same location on the outlet and thus reproducibility in generating a consistently sized opening. According to one aspect of the disclosure, the housing (6) is designed in two parts. A first part (8) comprises the opening (5) for inserting a cartridge outlet and the stop (7), and a second part (9) comprises the cutting edge (2). This two-part design allows the cutting device to be adjusted to different lengths between the stop (7) and the cutting edge (2). This enables the outlets of identical cartridges with different opening positions and sizes to be cut. The first part (8) and the second part (9) of the cutting device (1) are detachably connected to each other at a connection point (10). 24-0936 3 For example, by means of a screw connection, a plug connection, a bayonet connection or another detachable connection. According to one aspect of the revelation, a set comprising at least two first parts (8, 81) with a passage (5) for introducing an outlet of a cartridge with a stop (7, 71) and a second part (9) with a cutting edge (2) is provided, wherein each first part 8 or 81 is detachably connectable to the second part (9) and wherein first parts 8 and 81 have different lengths between cutting edge (2) and stop (7, 71). According to one aspect of the disclosure, the cutting edge (
