Description
PERSONAL CARE COMPOSITION FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention belongs to the technical field of personal care compositions, notably of hair care compositions. In particular, the invention relates to a personal care composition for improving hair manageability. The invention is particularly adapted for curly or textured hair, notably for improving hair styling, curl definition and curl retention. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Many people are dissatisfied with the appearance of their hair, and desire to treat their hair to improve the appearance and/or feel thereof. Consumers primarily use hair care products formulated for their hair texture and style and expect to achieve their desired result. For instance, curly hair consumers may have concerns that the curls are not sufficiently defined. People having curly hair may desire to maintain the curls and may also desire to gain better curl definition and/or regularity, and to improve curl retention. Further, curly hair consumers willing to straighten their hair are usually concerned about the durability of their "styling" over humidity and over time, because of the tendency of curly hair to frizz. Increasingly, consumers also seek hair products that have a natural look and feel, while imparting good styling benefits to hair. Consumers also seek products that offer multiple benefits, for example, combining frizz reduction and style hold with softening (i.e. not “crunchy” feeling), elongation or lengthening effects while still providing good curl definition. As such, there is a need for new and improved products and methods for treating keratin fibers, in particular human keratin fibers such as curly or wavy hair, which may make it possible to deliver visible and/or lasting curl definition, and/or maintain curls while obtaining good curl definition and/or regularity, particularly under humid conditions, and at the same time impart one or more various additional properties to the hair such as better movement, good volume, frizz control, softness, smoothness, and/or natural shape, and which may be long- lasting, non-irritating, and/or non-toxic. The present disclosure addresses these concerns by providing personal care compositions, notably hair care compositions, specifically adapted to curly and/or textured hair and that deliver benefits such as improved curl definition and/or curl regularity, and additional caring and conditioning benefits, such as smoothness, frizz and fly-away control, volume control, shine and discipline. As residual by-products obtained during the synthesis of surfactants or intentionally added, salts (such as NaCI) are usually present in personal care compositions because of their ability to build viscosity. However, too much salt causes clarity & stability issues. This is especially evident when the formula incorporates cationic polymers to provide conditioning benefits, naturally-derived thickening polymers with limited salt tolerance or surfactants such as Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, that can phase out in the presence of too much sodium chloride. To solve this problem, Ultra-Low Salt (ULS) grade surfactants have been developed. In particular, ULS grade are known to be used in sulfate-free formulations to improve clarity, viscosity and stability. In this respect, US 11 ,607,373 describes personal cleansing compositions comprising a cationic deposition polymer and a surfactant system, while having a level of salts inferior or equal to 1 wt%. Limiting the level of salts prevents undesired coacervate formations in product while on the shelf (before use). US 2004/186264 describes hair colorant compositions comprising amphoteric surfactants and comprising less than 15% by weight of sodium chloride, based on the weight of amphoteric surfactants. The low content of salts allows promoting the uptake of dye by hair. However, none of these documents is concerned with direct potential benefits for consumer. In particular, none of these documents is concerned with hair esthetic and/or visual and/or styling improvements. More particularly, none of these documents is concerned with improving the manageability of curly hair, notably the curl definition and/or frizz control of curly hair. The inventors have surprisingly discovered that the association in a personal care composition, notably in a hair care composition, of an amphoteric surfactant and a cationic conditioning polymer, while maintaining a low level of residual salts in the composition (typically less than 3% by weight, with respect to the total weight of the composition), allows improving hair styling and/or discipline and/or manageability. In particular, the composition of the invention allows improving curly hair styling, curly hair definition, anti-frizz effect but also curl retention of hair. The compositions of the invention are typically prepared (at least partially) from Ultra Low Salt grade surfactants. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The invention firstly relates to a personal car
