Description
Vehicle lighting This invention relates to vehicle lighting fixtures, such as those used in automobiles and other vehicles. Conventionally, illuminated emblems are sometimes attached to vehicles. In this case, existing products are generally designed as emblem lighting devices with a dedicated light source. Other vehicle lights, such as center lamps, may be placed near the emblem lighting device, but the emblem lighting device and these vehicle lights are designed individually as separate devices. In contrast, to reduce overall manufacturing costs, it has been proposed to integrate the emblem lighting device with the vehicle light (see, for example, Patent Document 1). In this proposal, the vehicle light comprises a light source and a light guide body having a rod-shaped light guide and a plate-shaped light guide connected to the side of the rod-shaped light guide. Light from the light source is incident on the end face of the rod-shaped light guide, and the light emitted from the side of the rod-shaped light guide forms the light distribution of the vehicle light. An emblem is formed on the plate-shaped light guide, and this emblem emits light due to the light guided from the rod-shaped light guide to the plate-shaped light guide. This is a schematic diagram showing the vehicle lighting device according to the embodiment installed on a vehicle. This is a schematic front view showing a part of a vehicle lighting device according to an embodiment.Figure 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a vehicle lighting fixture along the line A-A.This is a schematic perspective view showing an enlarged portion of the design features provided in a vehicle lighting fixture according to an embodiment. This is a schematic front view showing a part of a vehicle lighting device related to a comparative example. The present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings, based on preferred embodiments. The embodiments are illustrative and not limiting, and not all features or combinations thereof described in the embodiments are necessarily essential to the invention. The same or equivalent components, members, and processes shown in each drawing are denoted by the same reference numerals, and redundant explanations are omitted as appropriate. Furthermore, the scale and shape of each part shown in each figure are set for convenience to facilitate explanation and are not to be interpreted restrictively unless otherwise specified. Also, terms such as "first," "second," etc., used in this specification or claims do not indicate any order or importance, but are used to distinguish one configuration from another. Furthermore, some components that are not important for explaining the embodiments are omitted in each drawing. Figure 1 is a schematic diagram showing the vehicle lighting fixture 10 according to the embodiment installed on a vehicle. Figure 2 is a schematic front view showing a part of the vehicle lighting fixture 10 according to the embodiment. Figure 3 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the vehicle lighting fixture 10 along the line A-A shown in Figure 2. Figure 4 is a schematic perspective view showing an enlarged portion of the design part 30 provided on the vehicle lighting fixture 10 according to the embodiment. The vehicle light fixture 10 has a long, slender shape that extends along its longitudinal direction (left-right direction in Figures 1 and 2). As shown in Figure 1, the longitudinal direction of the light fixture corresponds to the vehicle width direction when mounted on a vehicle. When mounted on a vehicle, the vehicle light fixture 10 may extend, for example, at least half, or almost the entire width direction of the vehicle. A pair of rear combination lamps 11 may also be mounted on the left and right sides of the rear of the vehicle. The rear combination lamps 11 may comprise multiple lamps providing different functions (e.g., marker light functions), in this example, a taillight 11a, a stop lamp 11b, a turn signal lamp 11c, and a backup lamp 11d. The vehicle light fixture 10 may be positioned between the two taillights 11a, adjacent to the left taillight 11a at its left end and adjacent to the right taillight 11a at its right end. In this embodiment, the vehicle light fixture 10 is a center lamp positioned in the center of the rear of the vehicle and is configured to function as a taillight. Visually, the vehicle light fixture 10 may extend in the vehicle width direction to connect the two taillights 11a, and together with the two taillights 11a, it may create a horizontal luminous design that extends across the entire rear of the vehicle in the vehicle width direction. The design portion 30 of the vehicle light fixture 10 is incorporated into the vehicle light fixture 10 so as to emit light when the vehicle light fixture 10 is illuminated. In this example, the design portion 30 is located in the center of the vehicle light fixture 10 in the vehicle width direction. Typically,
