Credits
OpenPatent Pro is credit-based. Each billing cycle you receive a fixed credit allowance based on your plan tier. Credits are consumed when you run AI-powered operations.
Credit tiers
The minimum plan is $200/month for 10,000 credits. Additional credits are available in increments of $100/month per 5,000 credits, up to 100,000 credits/month.

Credits do not roll over — unused credits expire when the billing cycle ends.
Credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle.

Per-operation costs
Credit costs depend on the operation and, for API searches, the number of results requested.

Free operations
The following are free on all plans, including OpenPatent Free:
- Viewing patent details in the web app
- AI semantic searches with queries up to 500 characters
- AI patent summaries
- Chat with patents
- Sharing searches, patents, and reports
Checking your credit balance
Your current credit balance and usage are shown in Plan & Credits settings . The balance updates in real time as you run operations.
Credits reserved by in-progress requests count as used. If a request fails, those credits are returned to your balance.
